Quick & Easy Nail Trim for My Pups!…read more We brought our dogs to the grooming area at Petco because they were long overdue for a nail trim. We showed up a little before they opened, so there was already a small line waiting to get in. Once they opened the doors, some people went shopping while others (like us) headed straight for grooming. We didn't have an appointment, so I fully expected a bit of a wait. The team was moving at a good pace -- they checked in the appointment pups first, then got to us. I really appreciate having Petco nearby because: My dogs already have profiles in their system. The groomers are always friendly and patient. They're usually super quick -- my past visits, the dogs are done before I'm even finished checking out! One thing I love: you can add a tip right at the register. I never seem to have cash, so this is a big plus for me! This visit was on a Sunday, so it was definitely busy. Belle went first while I paid, and she was still getting pampered when I finished. Then it was Leia's turn. We'd had a puppy playdate right before, so I was hoping they'd be too tired to care about the paw-dicure. Belle was chill, but Leia was a little restless -- the groomer took her time, and it turned out great! I only added a star because the…read morestaff is friendly and I consider this a manager and corporate issue. 90% of the bettas looked like they were about to die and a few with few obvious swim bladder disease. The cubbies they are kept in are even gross and covered in dust and grime, filthy. The water in the little cups is murky and looked like they haven't been changed out in a very long time. Last year I did adopt a betta from here and it looked healthy. After three days in the new tank (fresh, clean, cycled for a week, and tested the water) it suddenly had ick. I only came into grab a tank renewal solution for my tank. I can't in good conscience continue to support a business that takes care of their living product in this manner. If you're going to sell live anything, they should be kept in comfortable conditions as possible until adopted. Even if they are just betta fish.

We mostly frequent the Monroe store and have been to the (much smaller) Redmond Ridge store a few times, but this was the first time we tried the Everett location. This is a relatively new Evereett location, Sam's having moved here from a previous location in Everett that had been open several years. This is the old Trader Joe's space in Everett, and it works well for Sam's. It's also Sam's largest location. The selection is impressive, and the quality and range of items carried are perfect. They have some hard-to-find superb pet food brands, as well as others that are a step up from grocery store food but not on that top tier. This is intentional. I know because Sam told me they want to ensure everyone can feed, entertain, and care for their pets regardless of their means. (Did you know they distribute any returned food to food banks and that you can return food if your pet does not like it.) So, yes, I had the pleasure of finally meeting the Sam (Sam Wirsching) behind the name. If you've ever seen Sam's flyers for Santa photos for your pets at Christmas, Sam is Santa (and a perfect-looking one at that). He was extremely humble, friendly, and exceptionally helpful and knowledgable. I was impressed, and it made our family's loyalty to this place increase. Sam's isn't fancy, but it carries top-tier brands. Think of it as a much larger Mud Bay without any pretentiousness. And it has great customer service, even offering free delivery of orders. We love Sam's Cats & Dogs Naturally. Though we will continue to primarily frequent the Monroe store, we would frequent this location if it was the one closest to us. All three locations are great.

Even though we had the paperwork along with the rabies tag, they still would not groom my dog. I will never ever go back to this location again to patronize them. The downside can occasionally be there's not or does not appear to have a lot of staff to address sometimes long line, but that's not any staff person issue I've always always had a good experience with staff. As we all know, prices are ridiculous. Everywhere we go so it's not to Petco or any other animal care place. I've always found this Petco to be clean.
