Dr. Jenny, Dr. Stephanie, and the entire team at Canal Street Vet are nothing short of…read moreextraordinary. They have cared for many of our beloved animals over many years, and we cannot imagine entrusting their health and well-being to anyone else. Most notably, the care they have provided for our 18-year-old cat, Louis, has been nothing short of miraculous. Nearly two years ago, we began noticing a decline in Louis's health. Through individualized care including supplements, dietary adjustments, and other noninvasive treatment, they have helped us restore his vitality and quality of life. It became hard to believe he was a senior cat at all, much less approaching 18 years old! More recently, Louis experienced another setback. He began withdrawing, lost his appetite, and clearly wasn't feeling himself. We expressed to the team at Canal Street Vet that our primary concern is that he lives a happy life over a prolonged one. Thanks to their expertise, compassion, and carefully considered recommendations, Louis has made another remarkable turnaround. Today, I would rate his quality of life a 9 out of 10. He's playful, making his jumps, running up and down the stairs multiple times a day, and most importantly, genuinely enjoying his life. At his age, this is an extraordinary gift. We treasure every single day we get to spend with Louis, especially knowing how precious these golden years are. We are profoundly grateful to Dr. Jenny, Dr. Stephanie, and the entire Canal Street Vet team for helping us give him not just more time, but more GOOD time. Their dedication, knowledge, and genuine love for animals have meant the world to our family. We have no doubt that without their exceptional care, we would not be enjoying these precious years with Louis. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

For 15 years, I took my dogs to the same veterinarian. I never had any major complaints, but I…read morenever felt that special connection either. Then I met Dr. Amy Bairnsfather. From our very first visit, it was obvious that caring for animals isn't just her profession, it's her passion. The way she interacted with my dog, listened to my concerns, and genuinely cared about her well-being was unlike anything I had experienced before. I switched veterinarians shortly after meeting her, and it's one of the best decisions I've made for my pets. In fact, I sometimes wish I had found her sooner. My two older dogs, who have since passed, would have benefited from the same compassion, attention, and love that Dr. Amy gives to every patient she sees. When my current dog started acting strangely, I was worried but couldn't pinpoint the problem. Dr. Amy quickly recognized the signs of diabetes and guided me through what felt like an overwhelming diagnosis. She patiently taught me how to care for a diabetic dog, answered every question, and gave me the confidence to manage her condition. What truly sets her apart is that her care doesn't end when you leave the office. She has responded to my texts outside of normal business hours more times than I can count, providing reassurance and advice when I needed it most. That level of dedication is rare. If you're looking for a veterinarian who combines expertise with genuine compassion, I can't recommend Dr. Amy highly enough.

We were looking for an alternative to boarding our large, active, hairy, pooping, peeing machine…read more I stumbled across a business card for Peace of Mind Pet Sitting at the local pet store. Peace of Mind is bonded and insured. Ms. Creel is the proprietor and a Registered Veterinary Technician. She offers a couple of levels of service, visiting the house as needed or even sleeping over to care for pets. Ms. Creel met us at the house. She provide references and proof of insurance. We worked through a checklist of the dog's needs and habits. She then spent time with the dog. We agreed on a twice a day schedule to visit the house which included a substantial walk every evening. She also agreed to pick up the newspaper, mail and water a few plants. While we were away, Ms. Creel took great care of our shedding monster. She texted us regularly with updates, and left a running series of notes on how the day went. We have used Ms. Creel 3X in the past year and hope to continue using her. It is about twice the cost of boarding the dog which is well worth the peace of mind (no pun intended). I strongly recommend Peace of Mind and Ms. Creel. I have seen people claim they checked cameras and their pet was never outside the kennel. In my experience I check the cameras intermittently throughout the day and sometimes he is napping in the kennel other times he is out on the play yard living his best life. Just depends on the time of day you check, but I assure you they get plenty of play time and socialization. He normally sleeps good the next day because he plays so hard while there. They even post daily pics of the dogs to their facebook so if you miss your pets play times, you can be reassured there as well. The staff is also wonderful and are always happy to see him. I would not feel comfortable leaving him in anyone else's care.

Let me just start with how happy I am with my experience today. I brought my two golden retrievers…read morein because they needed to be groomed (their grinch feet were out of control) with us just moving to the area I needed to find someone. From a little research and word of mouth I stumbled upon the rovervelt. I'm very hesitant on where I take the boys because I've had groomers go clipper happy before, but I've heard nothing but great things. From the moment I walked in everyone was absolutely amazing and super welcoming. I decided to add play time as well as have them groomed and it was the best decision. I dropped them off around 9am and picked them up around 530pm. The price was amazing for what they provide, coming from California I was used to paying $350 for both dogs just to get groomed, It felt like a crime leaving paying what I did! It was no where close to that, I would have been completely okay with paying more! That's how happy I am with The Rovervelt. 1. The boys look great 2. grinch feet -gone 3.butts cleaned up 4. they are so soft 5. they smell AMAZING, and last but not least 6. they are soooo tired! They have been asleep (besides to eat dinner -but I wouldn't want to sleep through dinner, so I don't blame them) since we got home. They told me they loved playing and they couldn't get them out of pool haha. We plan on returning weekly for full day play, monthly for grooming, and boarding with we go out of town. I will tell everyone I know with dogs about how amazing they cared for my boys. Thank you so much Rovervelt for taking care of them! Plus pictures that were posted on the Facebook page shows me how happy Mav and Goose are with their experience.
