The courthouse is actually a around building and I got a tour of it on one of my visits. It's beautiful inside and I love the architecture of this. Outside as well. The grounds are well-mannered cured and I mean manicured. So you couldn't ask for a city to takes care of things any better. Lovelock you are very lucky to have such a beautiful city hall for your Courthouse. May it bring great pleasure and lots of justice to all the people of the area

I was able to find a seat and power outlets easily. Then connecting to the wireless network was quick. No worries about not being a Pershing County resident - anyone can use the Internet and use the resources of the library. The only limit is that you need to be a resident to borrow books. Our kids could have done the loop themselves as young as 2 years old, holding the hand of an adult at some of the steeper parts. The views are gorgeous, the history and geology are rich, and the wow factor is definitely present!!! Start at the Marzen House in Lovelock. Grab two things - a Byway Guide and a Cave Interpretive Trail Loop Guide. Follow the Byway Guide to get from Marzen House (after learning about some of the history in Lovelock/ Pershing County!!!) and enjoy the adventure!!!

Lovelock Cave is a very easy cave to explore and fairly small, spanning only 160 feet in length. It…read morewas once inhabited by cannibal giants who were killed by natives via fire. Supposedly you can find the giants hand print in the cave and we looked and looked but could not find it. Our kids said that this was one of the coolest caves they ever explored. This could be because we read and saw the giants skull online and the story about this cave so it made it that much more interesting. 2,000 year old tule duck decoys were found here as well.The Native Americans used this cave and you will see the ceiling covered in black shapes. At first I thought someone must have vandalized the place but this is not the reason. The ceiling looks the way it does from the fire that emitted smoke in the cave. We saw one bat in the cave. There are not many bats in this cave because the area is too dry which means that there isn't enough food to support many bats. We did see lots of owl pellets outside of the cave which means that there are owls in the area.

This park is located immediately behind the Pershing County Courthouse and yes, the park is chock full of love locks. If you're not familiar with the phenomenon, lovers will write their names on the lock and then lock it, throwing away the key to signify their undying love for each other. There are bridges in Paris and New York and many other cities that are perhaps a bit better known for it. I did not have a lock today. I wonder if I could write "Bruce K." and "Yelp" on a lock? Ha! Adorable. My husband…read moreand I went six years ago, locked our love and took a picture of it. We went back six days ago, found our lock of love still there, no worse for the wear and strong. We took another pic and will go back in another five years to find it again. It's a great little spot to go with your love and right off the freeway. Right before we were about to drive away a gentleman stopped us and told us he could open the museum for us. He was very kind and knowledgeable about the museum, really appreciated that he opened it for us. The museum had various artifacts and I appreciated that the rooms were all themed. Sounds like there's big plans for the museum and I would definitely go back and check it out again!
