Tourist attraction This is one of those places that you have to do once just to see it. It's $30 for adults for a 3 attraction pass. You get to pick your adventure. We chose the cave, butterfly house, and mini golf. The great thing about the pass is you don't have to do it all in the same day. You can come back in finish another. The first attraction we visited is the cave. Even though you have a pass you have to exchange it for a ticketed time to go into the cave. They lead tours often so you usually done have to wait long. This is located inside the gift shop. The cave was fun to see on a historical point but the cave itself has not been well preserved. I agree with many other reviews that depending on your guide it can make the experience okay or awesome. Ours was just okay. The butterfly house was our next pick. It is a greenhouse like structure and was filled with hundreds of butterflies. A cool experience if you have never done anything like it before. We cam back the following day to do mini golf. It is open later than the other attractions so you can come back in the evening when it's not busy and enjoy yourself. I loved how each hole had a fact about the war on the water. There is also a free car museum, food stand, and bathrooms available. read more

Genuinely such a disappointment for a vacation. The cave is def not 5 stories below the ground, the maze sucks, everything is over priced. Mini golf is always fun. The jokes are maintained and there is shade throughout which was nice! $10 each or can do a combo with the cave , maze etc. touristy and clean a fun way to spend an hour or 2 read more

Overpriced. I took my kids here to do the rock climbing wall. They said it was closed because the padding below the wall was wet. It was sunny and beautiful (it may have rained earlier, but was dry when we went). Also, the stones are $6-$8 PER stone. So, we went across the street to Heineman. Same stones for $2-$3. Ended up getting a bag of mining rocks. It is about what I expected. A fww larger sized rough rocks and tons of tiny ones. It is not what their picture shows (lots of big rocks), so a bit misrepresented, but the kids enjoyed that. read more

This PIB tourist attraction​ has a lot of kid-friendly​​ thing to offer. Buy the bundle package and make it worth your $$. Sign​ up for the 20 min cave tour. Its led by teenage kids who do know some cool facts and have some cheesy jokes. It's not gunna wow your pants off but it is an appropriate tour for little tikes. It's a bit slippery and has low ceilings​ inside so just be wear. You might also get dripped on too. Butterfly​ House- The butterfly greenhouse​ was lovely. All the butterflies are flown in from Malaysia​! They don't breed them on site. The butterflies don't live more than 2 weeks. You can stay as long as you like and it is a very peaceful and fun place to enjoy. Sit a while and you a likely to have a butterfly land on your knee or shoulder. Put-put golf, the course is classic, sometimes a bit crowded but fun. It's likely you will lose​ your ball in the river but it's all in good fun. Some holes are harder than others but it's enjoyable. Bring water if you don't want to pay for over prices water on site. Antique car barn- this is very interesting. They have all these classic 1915-1930's cars parked all together in reasonable shape to see and take pictures with. It's​ a short visit but interesting as it's so close to all these other little. They also have gem mining and a maze for kids but I didn't do those things. ​ read more

The cave was small, but cool to see. For the price not bad! However- our tour guide was so rude. It just ruined it for us and put a terrible taste in our mouths. We had a young teen boy. He would unenthusiastically tell us the information, ask if we have questions, and then when someone asked a question he made fun of them. Seemed totally bothered. They need to do a serious training with their tour guides or they'll lose customers. read more

I hate this place. When they were re-doing their asphalt, it was super wet and there was one "wet floor" sign tipped over by it. No "wet asphalt" sign, no "keep off" sign. Just a couple trash cans tipped upside down keeping cars off. I rode into it on my bike not knowing and turned out of it, and hit the ground so hard my knees are burned and bruised all over. And the asphalt dried into my wound. Thank you Perry's cave for ruining my ability to even walk for a few days. read more

Don't expect to be bedazzled and you'll be fine. Our group did the miniature golf, butterfly house, maze and cave. There is also rock climbing and some antique cars on display. My kids loved the butterfly house and the maze the most. It's a good fun way to spend a day on Put in Bay especially if you have a group of kids with you. If you are a group of adults, I would just avoid this place and head to one of the wine tastings instead ;) read more

Quite a bit of investment has been made in 2017 on Perry's Cave. With the addition of a rock wall, a further build out of the maze, and a historical vehicle display-there's something for everyone. If you choose to play putt putt or sluice for gems, families and adults will be fully entertained here now. The owners have done a good job adding to the quality options of things to do on the island. read more

I only did the miniature golf during my visit to Perry's, but it was a lot of fun and seemed like a nice place to bring the kids. I would like to visit the cave next time. Mini golf was a little high at $8 per person. Enjoyed the course but it was very typical mini golf. Nothing too exciting. It would have been nice if they offered a place to buy something to drink, as the only option was a few vending machines out by the bathrooms. It was 90 degrees on the summer day I visited, and I just wanted some water. We spent about $12 extra just buying overpriced bottles of water from vending machines. read more

I have been visiting PIB since I was a child and had never been to Perry's Cave. Obviously it was time for me to check it out. In all my travels, I had never been in a cave before so I thought this was interesting. Of course I knew this wasn't going to be Mammoth Cave or anything like that but it was a pretty cool to check out and our tour guide was really informative. The tour was quick but I felt like it was worth the cost. But again, this was my first cave and I know that for $8 I could probably do better. *wink* Tall folks beware, you will spend 80% of the tour hunched over but there is no crawling around, just walking. At 5'2," I was mostly standing. We also checked out the Butterfly House. I recommend this if you are into looking at butterflies. I can't recall how many different species they have but there are hundreds of butterflies flying around. I was able to get some cool photos. Very peaceful. Also a huge gift shop that is very nice. We scoped out the antique car collection as well. The collection includes an old snowmobile and the island's oldest car. The car collection is housed in a small barn and won't take you long to peruse. You can also play miniature golf, laser tag, do some rock climbing and gemstone mining. Most of the activities run $8/each and honestly none of them are worth that but what can you do? We actually purchased a $60 pass at the Jet Express that included round trip Jet Express fare, Perry's Cave, Butterfly House, Heineman's Winery, miniature golf, and a few other attractions. Very interesting place to tour. However it was VERY apparent that the teen girl giving the tour did not want to be bothered with the tourists. Not friendly or even neutral at all. She obviously had better things to do and rushed us through as quickly as possible. Did the same tour 2 years ago with a different guide and it was a much better experience. read more

We visited during the week and got tickets for the Butterfly House and rock wall. My kids are 12 & 16 and they loved the butterflies! Lots of active butterflies, you can also view the caterpillars in stages of transformation. It is a greenhouse so gets warm inside, you can go in as many times as you would like during the day with your stamp. Reasonable price for an attraction at the bay, there is a BOGO coupon if you rent a golf cart from the location nearest to the Miller Ferry. There is also a discount if you tickets for 3 or more of the activities they have available. Nice activity and would go back. read more

Some of y'all don't have caves where you come from and it shows with your 3+ star reviews. It's a pretty flat island so I don't know what I was thinking in the first place going to a "cave". I'm from central PA and in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains so my standards for caves is pretty high I guess but this was the biggest disappointment of our entire trip. The half hour we waited for the tour was longer than the tour itself. I thought $8/person was a really good price until I realized that was $.50/minute for a tour of the gift shops basement. The kitschy gift shop abounds with typical overpriced goods. $8 per person is too much to spend for such an uneventful tour with a tour guide who knows nothing from outside of her script and just doesn't seem to care. I can't believe some of the low reviews for this place....honestly it's probably one of the best family attractions in the island. In regards to other reviews we did have a young tour guide but he was very much into it (telling jokes, keeping us engaged with historical info about the cave etc) we purchased a super saver pass for the cave, the butterfly house, and the maze (although we could have used it at the putt putt or rock climbing wall you could choose 3 out of 5). They have a cute "mining" station outside you purchase a bag in the gift shop and the kids get to mine for gems. Our kids loved it!!! Caves are cool but it's too expensive for the brief history lesson. The tour took about 20 minutes and really could have been shorter. I guess management feels more time= more money. Save the $ and visit one of Ohio's free caves. read more

We stopped off a main drag at Put In Bay on Catawba Ave. to this site-seeing tourist locale. The sign says "Perry's Cave Family Fun Center." The center includes Perry's Cave, the butterfly house, miniature golf, Fort Amaze'n (a human maze challenge), Gemstone mining, a climbing wall, an antique car mueseum, and a picnic area. I personally only went to the cave itself, which is considered an Ohio Natural Landmark. They offer tours (and lantern tours afterhours) at $7.50 for adults, $4.50 for children 6-12. The cave is all natural limestone, and lies 52 feet below the surface, so you take some (short) steps down into the mouth of the cave. For taller individuals, like myself, you really have to watch certain heights of the cave because they dip down so low. (I hit my head on the way out!) You get there by way of the connected gift-shop, which sells gemstones, jewelry, glassworks, odds-and-ends for the kids, etc. I'm not sure if I would've paid what I did to see it again, but for a one-time thing, it's good to know its there, and the history behind it all is interesting. We did check out the butterfly house until we saw the cost to see the butterflies (another $7.50? No thanks, I've seen butterflies). It wasn't until I came home that I found you could purchase the cave tour, the butterfly house, and a round of miniature golf at 25% off (which is still $7.50 for miniature golf by itself, meaning the price for 3 would be almost $17.) If you have the time and money, it wouldn't be that bad, but there are a lot of things to see on this island, so you be the judge. read more

Disappointing. We waited for our timeslot to go into this cave that was about the size of my basement. Our "half hour tour" was merely walking from one side of it to the other while the teenager guiding the tour told some well rehearsed and terrible jokes. The coolest thing which would've been seeing some stalactites and stalagmites didn't happen because as they explained a previous owner cut them off! Then he reminded us to give him a tip. read more

I'm sad this place is getting 1's and 2's. It's a poh-dunk little tiny cave in Ohio, what do you expect? It's only a 20 minute tour and it's $8, but honestly it was worth it just to hear the weird history. This is one of the smallest caves that I have been to and the tour is short. However, it's a nice visit if you buy the "fun pack" when traveling over to PIB. Not something I would have paid for separately. The young boys giving the tour were extremely knowledgable, friendly and full of puns. They made the whole tour very interesting. read more

I loved the cave. REALLY LOVED IT. The rude sarcastic teen boy guiding the tour? Not so much. I was really excited about seeing this cave and learning about it and this kid was completely unenthusiastic and ...just rude. He also at the end of the tour told us that there was another part in the back of the cave that he'd usually show others but our group was too big... Um I paid for this?! We didn't go in the cave we went to the butterfly house. It is surreal hundreds of butterflies simply awe inspiring.

No idea how the cave is, but the maze is sad. Trash littered the ground and the port-a-potty quality walls are deciving from the wood 'fort' exterior. Take your kids to the playground in the beautiful park on the opposite side of the island instead read more

Although the cave setting was nice there were many drawbacks as well. First of the steps were much too small thus creating a dangerous atmosphere. Along with the dangers present, there was not a friendly atmosphere as well. Our tour guide Erica was rather rude, using several profanities as well as kicking out a member of our group. Along with this she put our lives at danger by telling us to enter a room only supported by four inches of support. read more

Our tour guide, a 17-year old named Josh was sarcastic and downright rude. He didn't appear to actually want to inform people about the history of the cave, rather point out "idiotic facts" about the cave and insult people. In the middle of the tour he asked if anyone has seen the movie "Goonies?" My 9-year old, who loves the movie, jumped up and down excitedly saying "me, I love that movie!" to which the tour guide responded sarcastically, "okay, Chunk" (a character in the movie who was mocked for his weight.) Another time he asked the crowd how old people thinks he is (who cares?!) Again, an excited child (about 7 I'm guessing) waved his hand in the air directly in front of him and gave his best guess. Josh looked at him and didn't even acknowledge him. Finally, when leaving, he was handing out stickers and my 13-year old said "thank you" and told a quick joke, which he ignored. I told him "my son is talking to you" to which he responded "I know" and continued to ignore him. Completely rude and unacceptable!! He should NOT be working with the public.
