I asked if they had classes for learning how to use spray paint for art. The owner mentioned the possibility of workshops in the near future! That's exciting. I bought a purse made by Lisa Gallegos, her brand being Lalish. It has the Pomona 6Ps logo. Well-made with a detachable strap and inside zipper pocket, for $25. She has an office in the back of OverSpray and a display case in the store. You can pay her by Venmo or Zelle using the QR code in the display case sign.

This shop has DJs playing live music and showcases local artist in their gallery. I love the various styles of art they showcase. If you're a fan of graffiti art this place is for you. They have an incredible selection of cans, tips and canvas. Check out the merch section, especially the t-shirts. I was so impressed by the owners, they helped me find what I was looking for. And their prices were very reasonable. In the back of the store they had people working on live art pieces. I love this place! Pomona is lucky to have such a unique space.

After waiting a few weeks to make sure how I felt about this situation, I still feel very unhappy…read morewith the way the frame work came out. One would expect quality craftsmanship when spending $1200 to get two prints framed. Unfortunately that was not the case for me. After being weeks late of delivery date, both of the frames were dusty inside and the glass had water spots on the inside. I notice that one of my prints was creased as well. I pointed this out when picking up and was told that it came like that. This made it very awkward to argue since it's my word against hers and the print was in a tube that I opened at home but not in front of her. I asked if these things could be fixed. Came back a few days later to see that it was a little better but not perfect. I decided to take my prints and move on before they get worse. I wanted to support local and give this business a chance but I should have just taken my prints to Downtown Framers in LA. They always do a great job. I won't be back and will advise others to not take their work here.

This is the physical headquarters of the Pomona Valley Art Association. It is also a co-op gallery…read morecalled "Gallery SoHo." I showed at this gallery for almost a full year, and I still serve as the newsletter editor for the association. There are a few issues with this gallery: 1)The gallery is more of a boutique then an art gallery. Yes there are a lot of paintings on the walls, but the presentation makes it feel like a boutique. The walls are painted different colors (yellow, green, rust/orangy color). It looks nice, but when it comes to vewing the artwork it's very overwhelming. There are a lot of nice pieces of art, a variety of style and media, but there is so much on the walls it's hard to see any one piece individually. It feels a bit crammed. 2) The lighting is really bad, and there is no AC. This is not nessecarily the PVAA's fault. The Owners of the property (Jeved) have refused to bring this and most of their buildings in Pomona into the modern age. There are fans running in the summer, but it's just not enough. If you have the patience to look through everything, you will find a few artworks that you'd like to take home. The prices are very reasonable and there are no commisions-all the money from a sale goes to that artist. Each month there is a "monthly show" with a different theme that anyone can enter. There is a specific wall dedicated to this show. All entries are displayed (no work is rejected unless there is a technical issue-i.e. video/computer work), the winners win anything from art supplies to cash, you can enter any and all monthly shows, and the money made off of the entries goes into gallery expenses, and prizes for the student shows they host. The Association is starting to bloom. It is a non-profit dedicated to creating inexpensive and free venues for members to show their artwork. They also offer classes. It costs $20.00 a year to be a member, which includes discounts on the monthly and annual shows they produce, as well as a subscription to the newsletter. To exhibit in Gallery Soho, it is $15.00 a month, plus 5 hours a month of working the gallery.

Everything was priced fairly, and some great steals where there. Now what makes this place give stars is the level of service and honesty hospitality they give. I wanted to buy a camera but was unsure because of the risk that came with buying old electronics. But all the workers pitched in and helped me see if it still worked, we tried cables, batteries, lenses, cleaning and so on and so forth. Overall they went above and beyond making sure I felt comfortable buying it, when they could've just let me walk out with a faulty camera. They even gifted me batteries for it. There are many art galleries in their "village," but the Ahmad Shariff Art Gallery is, by far, the best. Ahmad features both established artists and those from the local community who hold great promise. He has an eye for talent and his prices are reasonable. There is a wonderful art museum across the street and Pomona College has their art museum just two blocks away. These three location alone are a reason to visit Claremont, but, as one will discover, there are many more.

They accept only paperback books (dictionaries, Spanish language, fiction, non fiction) and you can easily drop them off during their business hours. It was great to see that the bookstore had high foot traffic. Parking was quite limited, perhaps due to being Valentine's Day and it was definitely busy in the Packing house area.
