They were short staffed, and one of those staff members was incompetent. We got the incompetent one. We ordered breakfast nothing complicated and it took almost 40 minutes to get it to the table. Along with one reminder to previously mention waitress period when the food came the presentation was less than stellar and the food was mediocre at best. I ate here last night with a wonderful friend. I can't believe how clean this restaurant looks! It's a cozy restaurant with wonderful home cooked food! I ordered a coffee with French vanilla creamers to drink. My friend and I both ordered the pot roast dinner, which came with two sides each. The gravy on the post roast tasted great! Good flavor, not too salty. For my two sides, I had a house salad with Bleu cheese dressing and macaroni & cheese. My friend had mashed potatoes and green beans with bacon. This was the main meal for our trip. We couldn't go wrong!!! Our waitress did a nice job of helping us. I had not eaten here or at any Perkins for quite a while, so she helped me decide what to get. I ordered food online. I arrived at the restatuant on time and they couldn't find the order. The manager kept asking for the comfirmation number. I didn't have my phone with me. I already had paid for the meal. I decided not to arugue and just left. The manger was trying to act as if she had some type of control over me. This Perkins can be seen from off the freeway but not very easy to get to unless you are staying at one of the hotels down the lengthy street. We decided to stop here because the Cracker Barrel was crowded and the parking lot was nearly full. Most guests or visitors would not venture further down the long street unless you were staying at the hotels located further away. Service took a while since there was a line at the cashier station and the worker was not able to handle the payments and bakery orders at the same time. Once we were seated, service became much better and the food arrived quickly. Overall, this was a good place for food but once the line forms to pay for your meal, and people are lined up for seating, you will unfortunately have to wait for the other line to disperse before you are seated. It's not a great system but if staffing is tight, that would be the alternative. read more

Meh on top of meh. The place was empty but still super slow. The food was bland unappealing. Nothing was really wrong with it but it just wasn't good. Like how you feel when you make a tv dinner, you aren't happy about it but you need to eat something and it is food so you eat it. That's the excitement this food engendered. I won't go to one star because it wasn't exactly bad it was just enthusiastically not good. And very slow. It was like a restaurant that has just given up on itself. Not great, but it's precisely what I'd expect from a chain-type place next to a hotel. What I did not expect was terrible service in a small midwest town. The waitress was annoyed by us and did not like when we asked for something in addition to what she brought out, like sugar-free syrup (I know I would never, but my grandmother needs to watch her sugar intake). The bacon came out soggy, and my mom asked if she could have it crispy, so that was a fail. My meal was decent. I had a veggie skillet and added broccoli. In fairness, the waitress could have had an off day, but there are way better places for breakfast, so I'd blow past this on the interstate. read more

I've been to this Perkins location twice and had very different experiences. The first experience was quite pleasant, good service but nothing memorable. My second experience, I came with a group of 9 people (split up at a table of 5 and 4). It took us 2.5 hours to get our food!!! WHAT!? That's ridiculous! Our food came out cold, one order was completely missing, and the serving portions of the sides were extremely stingy. We waited soooo long for our food and I still left hungry and disappointed! Krystal was our waitress on a very busy Sunday morning. Large party. She was very transparent, which we appreciated, that they will do their best to accommodate us, but clear they were understaffed, so she got our orders, accommodated our cranky diabetic hangary mother with their request of peanut butter until food was delivered, super helpful. She told us the food will be 45 minutes to an hour and that's what it was and that give us plenty of time to talk and socialize and we made the best of it and the food was delicious and the price is right We try to be extra helpful by stacking all the dirty dishes for them and pouring our own coffee She was smart to bring up pitchers of water and pitchers of coffee. Nice to the staff goes a long ways. Will let management know their staff did exceptional under their stress. read more

Went in this morning and was seated immediately. Only 2 people. We say for 10 minutes and had multiple servers pass through our section. Nobody acknowledged us. We stopped in because we were staying at the Hampton next door. It was New Year's Day, so the place was mostly empty. Brianna the only waitress on duty, wanted us to sit right next to the only other couple in the restaurant. She said it would be easier for her. I asked to at least have a table between us. She grudgingly said ok. We ordered appetizers because a card on the table said 1/2 off after 9 PM. It was 8:59 when we ordered and told her we were going to since it was on special. My husband ordered breakfast and I ordered chicken strips. My husband's was ok but my chicken strips were burnt. The waitress said I could ask for a new order but it would be the same. She said the fryer was broke and the cook was using a pan of oil on the stove. And he told her he had to make sure chicken was fully cooked. Well it was burnt and not edible. The waitress should have told us before ordering. Our appetizer of fried pickles was also deep fried, dark brown and burnt tasting. We couldn't eat them. After the meal, at the register, Brianna (waitress) said we couldn't get the appetizers half off because we ordered at 8:59 and they were not half off until 9:00. What!?! Did she not understand when we ordered we wanted the special. Or should I have told her to stand there for one more minute and then I would tell her what appetizer I wanted?!? What a rip off and dishonest of the waitress. The food wasn't even edible... That made the full price even more intolerable. We did get free slices of pie for "Free pie Monday " they were put in to-go containers and it was smashed into the containers. It looked like it had been on the floor and spooned into the containers. We wound up throwing them away rather than eating them. Do you blame the waitress for the rudeness, customer service or the managers that hire these incompetent employees. They are not trained correctly. We certainly did not have an experienced chef cooking the food and the waitress was certainly clueless. If you can find another restaurant, do it. I think this is the only location in town. The food wasn't very good IMO. I don't think I'll drive all the way up north for this breakfast again. The service was awesome... My breakfast came out perfectly cooked. It was absolutely fantastic! Sabrina was my server and she was very attentive mind you this was at 6 am... I had ordered the Triple Dare, It came with 3 eggs, 3 pieces of applewood bacon, 3 sausage links, hashbrowns, pancakes, and French toast,- Really enough food to feed 2 people. Our waitress tonight was Brianna. She was great. Came to our table quickly. Got our drinks and returned promptly for our dinner orders. There was one error on the order; she accidentally entered patty melt instead of pot roast melt. As soon as the error was discovered she quickly ordered us the correct item. Informed us of the cause of the error and apologized quickly and professionally. When she brought the check she pointed out the patty melt was still on the ticket since the manager would have to take it off for us. She had circled so the manager would remember. When we went up to pay she saw us and summoned the manager immediately so there would be no problem. The check was adjusted and payment went smoothly. I worked, and managed, customer service for forty years. Brianna handled everything as I would have wanted one of my employees to; friendly, transparent, and solicitous. read more

Three times, I have attempted to eat here and only one time have I been successful. On each occasion, it was almost dead in the store, not at all busy, but it still took twenty or more minutes to even get acknowledged. I walked out and went elsewhere twice, but the one time I did get service, the food was at least pretty okay. It's overall below average diner fare but I have a nostalgic fondness for Perkins having grown up eating it on special occasions. I'm just really confused why the company would bother reopening in Lincoln if this is how it's going to be run. read more

All of the servers were hanging out in the back. People were waiting to be seated and waiting to pay. I thought we would be back, but probably not. My experience at Perkins was quite amazing. my main course entrée and appetizer were spectacular. I ordered the sweet barbecue and onion cheeseburger with the loaded potato soup (highly recommend). I have been looking forward to Perkins coming back to town for a long time. My wife and I went out on a sunny Saturday morning to try it. The place was fairly full, about two-thirds. We were greeted quite swiftly and offered drinks. I only had to wait another five or ten minutes for our order to be taken. My wife then had noticed a African American boy and his father sitting waiting patiently for service. After 45 minutes we lost our patience and had to grab a server, and ask why they still haven't be served? In-between that time the little boy had got up gone to the counter and begged for help since he was hungry. Nothing happened at all. I Finally went and got our sever whom argued with me in a rude manner. She went over regret-tingly and took their order. We still looked over at them after we have finished our meal the and still nothing arrived. I found this unacceptable and went to the manager and told them what they were doing. I Bought the boy and father some blueberry muffins compliments of ourselves to help cover for this ridiculous wait. I told the manager the issue and still made me pay for the muffins. It's a shame when another customer has to step in where the management should have. I sincerely hope this was not racially motivated. They had been waiting at least an hour when we had left. Zero stars. Waited 30 minutes to be seated even though the restaurant was only 1/3 occupied. The server took over 20 minutes to bring our drinks. After placing our order we had to inquire about timing :0 minutes later. The server stated he timed the order so it wouldn't come out until he was finished with a table of 5. When the order came out the soup was cold twice and we refused a third attempt to get it right. The breakfast order included barely warm smoked sausage and cold hard pancakes. After people left it was over twenty minutes before tables were cleared. Wasted 2 hours in this place. This Perkins needs to do a complete purge of personnel. The food here is a definite 2 stars. I broke down in my most recent visit to Lincoln and had a lunch/breakfast. 2 eggs over easy, sausage, toast, and fruit instead of potatoes. My meal was delivered in a timely manner with bacon instead of sausage. The manager delivered an order of sausage to my table. The sausage was dried out. Eggs ok. The fruit was hospital food. Not high on the quality of the meal. The 3 stars are a result of the staff here. They were definitely understaffed. The wait staff hurried from table to table taking orders and delivering food in a timely manner. The manager on duty was doing everything. Seating people, cleaning tables, helping to deliver larger orders. I want to thank them all personally for bringing some semblance of order in a chaotic setting. read more

The first red flag should have been the 3 cars in the parking lot. I went inside and was eventually seated. As I waited to have my drink order taken I began looking around. One family eating. Three other tables waiting for their drinks. WAITING FOR THEIR DRINKS. They had been their, waiting, since before I arrived. That's when I cut my losses and left. As I drove away I saw some guy out back in his car smoking with the door open. I can only conclude it was the cook. Hardly working. I love Perkins....Just not this Perkins. Sadly, service here is awful. We arrived . Just before 11:00 we arrived to the restaurant, were seated in the dining area that maybe had 10-20 other diners. and ordered tea and water. Took a few minutes to look over the menu and ordered an appetizer and our meals by 11:10. Then the wait began. At 11:25, out apppitizer arrived. At 11:40, we were tolls our food would be 30 seconds. At 11:50, we went to pay. The waitress said our food would be right out, we chose to leave. She told to just go then. Told us we didn't need to pay for our app or drinks, just to go...so we did. Every time we come here the hostess aims straight for the table next to the kitchen door (because it's that waitress's turn.) If I had my way about it I'd throw that table into the dumpster. We received really good service today 2/15/2020. The Hostess told us there was a 5 minute wait. It was exactly 5 minutes no more no less. Tables were cleaned off quickly after guests left. Our waitress KELLY was EXTREMELY patient (even when she didn't have the time with how busy it was) with my sister who is mentally disabled, and catered to her every whim. The guy who sold me the muffins had an awesome personality. Wish I had caught his name! Kelly deserves to be recognized and was the best server I've had in a while. Loved her. read more

This Perkins. I've ate here 3 times now at this new one they built and it has been terrible each time! This time In particular is what I have to write about.. first of all, the food I had was horrible. I ordered the bacon chicken broccoli alfredo. Which sounds good but it wasn't. I didn't even get the bacon on it and it would of been better if the broccoli was cooked more. Also wasn't enough alfredo and cheese on it! I asked for a little extra alfredo and the lady came back and said, "let me grab your ticket and change it then I'll be back". I said, "what?" She said it's only a dollar extra for it. (Before even telling us) then I just refused because seriously?! They should of actually had more on there in the first place. It was really dry. Plus we've already got a $60 ticket.. Secondly the waitress had NEVER even came back to check on us and see how the food was for us or give us refills. It was the manager that came and brought us out our food when I asked for that. Then when it was time to leave, it took forever to even get a box. The manager threw the box at me and rushed off to the kitchen. Thirdly, the manager was the one that checked us out and before I could even say a word about the food or anything, she glanced at me for a second then dashed off. She could tell I was mad by the look on my face. Not to mention there was still food on the seats when we came in and while leaving, there was still food crumbs on a table nearby that said this 'table has been sanitized'. Also had food laying around everywhere on the floor that looks like it's been laying there all day. (We came in the evening) Lastly, it was soo soo expensive! You might as well eat at a fancy restaurant if your going to be paying over $60 for 4 people to eat. It's $2.99 for a pop and it's $4.79 for a shake alone. Which I gotta say the shake was the best thing in this whole experience. So if you want to pay for an overpriced shake, it was actually really good. But that's the ONLY thing. read more

Our server, Tiara, was a lovely young lady but was wearing her mask under her chin. A member of the cook staff was also massless. We only saw two staff, possibly managers, wearing masks.
