Doc is great, but you have to wait for over two hours in a crowded room with old guys that stink like piss.

In my opinion and experience, Dr. Come Gomez initially came across as caring and professional…read more However, that image was dismantled with time. I consulted Dr. Gomez back in 2020. It happened to be at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. For this reason and others, I objected to undergoing a prostate biopsy for fear of infection. Later in early 2026, I followed up with another consultation with Dr. Gomez. This time, Dr. Gomez did not conduct a clinical interview and/or physical exam; his assistants did. His PA started by indicating that I needed a biopsy of the prostate since my PSA was "high". It has gone from 3.6 in 2023 to 6.9 in 2026. By then, my cytology on 02/24/26, was negative; MRI indicated that there is no evidence for restricted diffusion." Yet, Dr. Gomez insisted on a Biopsy. I told him I would think about it. He continued typing on his computer and referred me to see Dr. Manoharan at the Baptist Oncology Center. Once, I called Baptist to get a second opinion, but it refused unless I had already had a biopsy done. A few more days, I received a certified letter from Dr Gomez discharging him from his care. No reason given. Dr. Gomez never discussed the pros and cons of a biopsy, nor the actual planned procedures. He never discussed the different levels of PSA vis-à-vis prostate size, patient age, and other factors to give informed consent. He limited himself to telling me that I had a 50/50 chance of cancer. Once I reviewed my medical records, Dr. Gomez had written a page-long report detailing that I understood the "treatment plan," etc. That did not occur! In fact, I learned more about the ramifications of prostate biopsies and the relationships/ratios of the sizes of the prostate and levels of PSA, what constitutes PSA, from videos on YouTube and my new urologist in Mexico than from Dr. Gomez. Once, I questioned Dr. Gomez about the benefits of conducting a PSE (Prostate Screening Epigenetic). He responded that he would not stop using PSA since it is his favorite routine test compared to the newer tests. Epigenetic tests are deemed more advanced tools that help refine decisions: Whether to biopsy or whether cancer is likely aggressive. To add insult to injury, I called Dr. Gomez's office four times requesting a copy of my medical records, but it wasn't until after I sent a certified letter, with a copy to an attorney, that I received them.

I gave 1 star only because I had to. My 75 year old husband had an accident on7/19 and fractured…read morehis pelvis in 4 places. After 3 hospitalizations and 5 weeks in rehab we called the office to make an appointment. My husband was an existing patient. The secretary basically said "No way. We have sent you a letter." During this time, did my husband miss an appointment, obviously. Did we call to cancel, no? It was definetlly not on our minds. After I explained the circumstances the secretary said,"Once the letter goes out ,no chance." In choosing a doctor it is important that he has a heart as well as a brain.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my fathers experience at this doctor's office was…read moredisappointing enough that I feel compelled to warn others. If I could leave a NEGATIVE 50 stars, I would. We regret not going off the previous reviews but being that it was close to home, we gave it a try. For over two months we've tried getting ahead and each time it was clear that the office was extremely disorganized and my father could not get ahead of the issue at hand. The entire team operates with a complete lack of organization, urgency, or basic courtesy. Unlike any other medical office experience I have ever seen. To make matters worse, the office manager Maria Lopez-- who should be setting the tone and correcting these issues -- is just as rude and unprofessional as the rest of the team. Instead of addressing concerns, they dismiss complaints with attitude and defensiveness, making it clear that patient experience is not a priority here. This office is a model of how not to run a healthcare practice. There are many clinics that offer quality care--this, unfortunately, is not one of them. They called to confirm today's appointment yesterday afternoon, when we arrived today they had cancelled it with no warning. I hope this prevents others from taking their loved ones here. Anyone leaving a positive review here I am convinced works or knows someone that works in this office. They are terrible.
