Resorts in Australia are variable... the weather is variable... the crowds are variable (but usually plentiful... doh)... and the surface is variable... oh it costs heaps too. But its fun.. so... yeah. Perisher is one of your three options if you are visiting the Jindabyne area (the others nearby being Thredbo and Charlotte's Pass). Pros: - Parks are probably the best in the southern hemisphere. Charles Beckinsale and his crew are killing it - Skitube makes getting up the hill during big storms easier - Effectively 4 resorts on the one pass (the four areas amalgamated ages ago) - If you buy an "Epic Pass" the year before, the pass is rather cost effective Cons: - Expensive (common to all Australian resorts unfortunately) - Kind of flat between the peaks so you may traverse more - If the weathers completely bollocks the day tickets are still ridiculously expensive... read more
