Meaning you won't pay an arm and a leg on lodging and food. It's less than 10 mins to the tramway Speaking of food, theres a LOCAL bar, cafe, restaurant area just 1 and 2 alleys down. One of them is umbrella covered. Its pretty bohemian. Also, you don't get the usual guy hassling you to eat at their restaurant. Turkey is a secular country but I feel it's getting more conservative in a religious way. The Art work on the lobby at the Sub Karaköy announces its secularism. The continental breakfast here is quite impressive but it's not fully ready until 8Am I almost took a star off for that. They have a roof top bar and the rooms are neat especially the sound system. Highly recommend.

The hotel is small, the lobby is the size of a small hip coffee shop, and is decorated as such. But that just adds to the charm. We love boutique hotels and have stayed in many throughout the world. This somewhat reminded us of a mini version of the Standard in NY. The Sub is now on our favorite list. The rooms were small as expected, but decorated cool and comfortable with all the amenities you'd expect. The thing that we enjoyed the most of our four night stay was the customer service. My wife and I traveled with our 3 year old, and from arrival the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. (Although we were the only guests we noted with a child, I'd still categorize the hotel as kid friendly because of the accommodating staff. They even offered us a baby crib in the room, which we didn't need or accept). Upon arrival the manager saw us pull up in a cab and ran across the street to help us with our bags. He proceeded to offer us tea when we walked into the lobby and sat down with us for about 20 minutes. He gave us a map, highlighting where we should visit and eating recommendations. That type of service was standard throughout our entire stay. The location was also a nice surprise. The Sub hotel isn't located in the middle of the touristy spots, but in a small neighborhood in the middle of many must-visit destinations. The "tram" was only a two minute walk and that got us everywhere we needed to be. Overall our stay was great and I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.

It's in a hip and more local neighborhood than the ultra-touristy Sultanahmet District across the Bosphorus. It is located directly above one of the best restaurants in the area and a few doors down from a famous baklava shop. We arrived early in the morning and were met by the very helpful employee. Although the room was not yet ready, he held our luggage and we did end up checking in several hours before the official check-in time. The building is historic and has tons of character. It also has the convenience of an elevator, which I am thankful for. I splurged a bit (still very reasonably priced) for a 55 square meter studio that even had a kitchen area. The room was huge and we loved the decor and the comfortable furniture. It was perfect! Since we were staying at Karakoy Rooms, the front desk was able to help us get a dinner reservation at the popular restaurant downstairs, which was equally amazing. We only spent one night at Karakoy Rooms but it was one great stay.

Thanks to the low-season I could afford it now ;) The rooms are tastefully decorated, very clean and the bed was very comfy. Nice! I could have spend all the hours there as I was also lucky enough to get a room with a view towards the Golden Horn. Another big plus is the staff: Friendly and always helpful. I didn't get up early enough for breakfast so I missed out on the terrace which looks great on their website. But I'll give it a go when I am coming back soon. Oh, and I shouldn't forget the perfect location: You are right in the heart of beautiful Beyoğlu where everything is happening. The hotel's location was excellent. It was a very short walk to the marina and dozens of restaurants. It was on the main boulevard making it easy to find. The check in and check out was a breeze, and all of the staff members were helpful and friendly. One staff member, AYKUT, in particular was super helpful. He took the time to explain how the train system worked and how to obtain a card for payment. He also provided detailed directions and made other transportation suggestions. We really appreciated his help. Regarding the room, it was big enough for us, well-decorated, clean, and functional. We also had a decent view of one of the prayer towers. The hotel also had a rooftop where you could take your drinks to and view the city. Overall, we had a five star experience and would stay at 10 Karakoy again.

I broke my foot (at the metro station) during vacation in Istanbul. I tried to champ it out in my room thinking it was a sprain but I was in excruciating pain and the wonderful staff finally convinced me and sent me off to a great hospital. Upon my return from the hospital they literally catered to me and were so empathetic while I was in crutches and a boot. They sent free food to my room, had their concierge fill my prescriptions for the pain meds, they walked my friend and I to a restaurant and had patience while I was struggled the crutches!!!! They really went above and beyond. I am forever grateful to the kindness the staff and management have shown. I cannot wait to go back and just bring gifts back for the great staff. If you're ever in Istanbul, please stay at the 10 Karaköy.

However, at this Four Seasons location the Manager: Muhammed, Server: Melike and Bartender: Onur went out of there way to make sure we had a great dining experience--even though the first Mushroom Risotto that I had added Short rib had no mushrooms, basil and was WAY too salty, the manager Muhammed insisted on having the chef redo this dish, once it was redone, very delicious, unfortunately, I was a little turned off from the first version so I only had a bite however, if this redo was what should have been made--I would've eaten the whole thing. My partner had From the Wood Oven: PULLED SHORT RIB--Smoked Beef Short Rib, Potato, Sour Cream, Chestnut Mushroom, Aged "Kars" Gruyere--which he thought was just ok. The holiday dessert was AMAZING!!! Best part of our lunch!
