Between the receptionist, hygienist and Dr. Shapter, I was guilt tripped about not getting my kid in sooner no less than ten times. No exaggeration. Dr. Shapter was also nasty to the hygienist in front of us. If you're willing to tune out their judgmental attitudes, the staff really does care about children's teeth. I drove 40 minutes from home to the appointment and I arrived to an empty office. There was no sign on the doors or desk, so I assumed they were out at lunch. I tried calling the office multiple times and got no answer. After waiting nearly 30 minutes I went and asked the person who was screening at the door. She also had no idea what was going on but was able to make a phone call and found out that the dentist was actually out on vacation. I had no prior knowledge of this. I never received a phone call to cancel or reschedule. What could have been a VERY easy phone call lead to unnecessary travel in the middle of a pandemic and was a huge waste of my time.
