Staff are super friendly and kind. Just an update for those who like gifts that matter They are selling the cutest wooden houses in support of mental health . All the proceeds go the maker which is really amazing. They have a map of Manitoba and come with a little star so you can place your town on the map. For 15-20 dollars they are a steal and will look super cute in my kitchen. The staff said you can email the maker for custom provinces. I think they would make a great gift for a great cause.

Yes, you can show up in a flashy car or buy rounds of drinks for my friends or take me to $300 dinners... but what I'll remember in 10 years... what will make me want to stay around for 10 years, are the little things. You can make me feel like I hung the moon by remembering a special moment. My S.O did this with a trinket from Out of the Blue. It was a beautiful necklace with a sand dollar pendant. It was so special that the moment I opened it, it triggered a proustian memory and I was back to that beach in Africa. back to 2007 when he was Obama-ing it up meeting long lost relatives in the motherland and I just happened to be staying at his birth father's house while I was volunteering in the village. You know... the usualboy meets girl story. I left for Kenya and got trapped in the makings of a civil war. Passport stolen, city locked down, the sound of sirens and the smell of burning filled the air. This man, this guy who knew me not even in a biblical sense for just a few weeks took a 16 hour bus ride across 2 countries to make sure I was ok. We ended up hiding away at his cousin's beach house on a empty strip of sand in a remote village while he fed me pineapples in the day and at night I would wake up crying from memories of men with machetes burning down churches full of children. All he could do was tell me it was going to be ok. It was our morning ritual to make the only footsteps on the beach and collect sand dollars whose bodies wash up on the shore after their death. Every little sea creature skeleton wiped away a fearful memory until there were no more night mares... and after awhile they weren't marine corpses anymore but reminders that though life can be horrid, heartbreaking, gruesome, unfair, dire, terrifying, it still has the capacity to be beautiful and birth love. When I opened that sweet little cardboard box, all those feelings came flooding back to me and that necklace isn't just a necklace, but a visual reminder of a memory of the heart.

I suppose that it's kind of the norm at most outlet malls. Not all stores will give you heavily slashed prices on everything. I like that it's an indoor mall. You are protected from the elements when the temperature swings thirty degrees in either direction from zero. -30°C? You are safe from having your eyelashes freeze over. 30°C? It was what I had experienced while in the city. This mall was nicely air-conditioned and perfect to hibernate against hot, humid conditions. The mix of stores made me happy. Old Navy. GAP Factory. Winners. Claire's. Kernels - Baskin-Robbins. Skechers. Danier. Starbucks. Urban Treasures. Chatime. Lindt. I was perfectly content shopping at these places. Some are your regular businesses at any mall, such as Chatime and Starbucks. Winners has decent prices already. Old Navy, GAP Factory, and Lindt had deals that you'd expect from an outlet. The deals were fabulous. If you are a visitor, you can get a discount when you shop at various stores by dropping by Guest Services. The problem that I encountered was that they ask for ID. I dropped by to shop with a credit card and me. This woman at the counter would not accept photos of my driver's licence, both front and back, with my mugshot, on my phone. I didn't feel like grabbing my ID from the glove compartment of my rental vehicle and heading back to save maybe a couple of dollars on my great deals. Some stores are separate from the mall, but are still a part of it. Krispy Kreme is an example. I don't mind it because it has a drive-thru. There's also an IHOP, which is nice not doing a trip over the border to get your pancake fix. I spent my last full day in Winnipeg at this mall for a few hours. I enjoyed it. I used the washroom before I left. It was fancy and clean. There was plenty of parking. Each entrance is numbered, which is helpful. I look forward to returning to the city and dropping by this mall again. I'm glad that I can finally say that I've shopped here at long last. (330)

Maybe this review is influenced by the fact I've been to many other outlet malls that have more variety, but I definitely felt underwhelmed after shopping here. The location itself isn't very ideal, as the two major streets are high traffic, so getting here isn't exactly convenient. The mall bills itself as an outlet mall, but I honestly saw very few outlet prices. There were barely any sales or deals in all the places I went to. Definitely disappointing. The place is huge though, and the mall design is extremely open concept, plus the washrooms are really neat. That's about all the positives I can say unfortunately; Polo Park has better options in my opinion if you're looking for clothing.

Whenever I am vacationing in a Canadian city, I end up declaring a Winners as my go-to store during…read moremy stay. In Winnipeg, it was this location on Pembina Highway, near the University of Manitoba. It's in a plaza that I used to frequent eons ago. It was nice to head back here a few times during my stay. There is plenty of parking in front of this store. I always found a spot steps away from the main entrance. This store carried the light line of Kipling bags. I saw a nice backpack. The downside to this light line is that it doesn't make certain pockets padded for your laptop. I still like my Kipling backpack with padding. It's still lightweight. This store also had Kipling handbags. They were nice, but were too small for my needs. The PopSockets section was great. I ended up getting a ramen one, which I am currently using. I also got a clear MagSafe one, which is cool changing things up. I managed to get a couple of small Squishmallows at great prices here. I got a frog and a beaver. I am looking at them right now. Adorable! Last summer, I got a tongue cleaner at a Winners in Ottawa. This store in Winnipeg had stainless steel ones. They don't compare to the copper ones that I bought in Ottawa for both my dad and me. Copper is great. The plastic ones also do the trick to keep your tongue clean. I find that the stainless steel ones don't do as great of a cleaning job. There's my review on tongue cleaners from Winners. Bonus content. Enjoy! I saw some cute mushroom lamps. It would have been nice to have brought back one, but it wasn't lightweight. The kitchen accessories were cool to look at. I loved everything from training chopsticks, to pineapple-shaped ice buckets. The shoe section was decent. I liked seeing a bunch of size 11 footwear for women. The Crocs with fuzzy lining looked hideous. I bet that they felt great wearing them! Staff at the checkout were super nice and helpful. I never had any issues having my TJX Canada STYLE+ barcode scanned from my phone. I paid with either a debit or credit card. All went well. It was nice shopping here a handful of times. It's a good store. (305)

If you're in a hurry, you aren't going to find what you're looking for. Check back often because items are always changing. Make sure to try things on. There are so many different brands here that everything will fit in a different way. Its a great place to find designer items like Michael Kors and Calvin Klein at discount prices. Also a great place to find one-of-a-kind pieces as well. Winners isn't only about clothes, either. They have accessories, shoes and great home decor. I've purchased many picture frames, blankets and pillows for my apartment decor at great prices.
