I love, love, love Pepperoni Cafe. Huevos Rancheros is my favorite, and the most food for the best price of any other place I've tried. The pancakes here are light, fluffy, and look so perfect you'd think they were model food for a magazine spread. With all that said, the service here is even better than the food. I purchased a Groupon for Pepperoni's, knowing that pizza is my munchkin's favorite food and it was a good deal. Today was our first time here. It's a nice little space with a casual vibe. We ordered a large pizza to share, with some drinks and the garlic cheese bread. Note: the bread could be a meal in itself, so definitely save room for the main event if you order it. It's almost $7 for an order of it, but that price is justified by the fact that it is HUGE and delicious. The pizza was even better. We got the Deluxe, which is loaded with cheese and toppings. The sauce is good, and there was a perfect ratio of crust/sauce/cheese/toppings. Speaking of the crust, it wasn't too thick or too thin. It also had a very fresh taste to it, compared to the mass-produced taste of chain pizza. Even without a Groupon, I'll come back. It's reasonably priced with great service and great food! I began as a Pepperoni's customer for lunch when my wife and I passed by on a hungry afternoon. The service was fantastic and I was impressed with the variety and quality of the food. Fast forward about a year, I now use Pepperoni's Cafe for nearly every catering order of my organization. They execute catering on every level (from pizza for 400 high school students, to business lunches, to a semi-formal dinner event, and even a week long conference) and never disappoint with their quality of food and prices. Since I am almost a weekly customer of Pepperoni's, I have had the pleasure of getting to know the owners and staff very well. They are extremely nice, helpful, responsive, and will go above and beyond for their customers. We were starving and he had heard the place was good. I ordered Hot Chocolate and that was very good. We then started with the Mushroom Bruschetta which was not at all what we expected it to be. It was super rich and creamy on top of English muffin like bread. It was almost what I expect eggs Benedict to be like, rich and heavy. He had a Caprese panini which they made without the meat and I had pancakes. His was good but mine wasn't so hot. When butter was placed on them the butter didn't melt one bit. They tasted a bit like the pancakes that come out of the freezer section of the store. My boyfriend ate the rest of mine and he liked them. This is a great breakfast place! My friend and I went here after finding the long line across the street. I needed to eat and run, so I didn't have time to wait for a table. I was always wary of this place because it was part of the frat-tastic side of uptown, and getting door hangers from them, I wasn't too impressed. I am so glad that I came in! The food was soo good. I got an omlet that pretty good, but my friend ordered the fruit and nutella crepe. Amazing. It was so amazing, i ordered one to go for another friend, and she proclaimed that it was AMAZING too. I also love that the waitress asked if we wanted our coffee to go. Some people have told me it's pretty common, but this is a first for me. a free refill cup to go! YAY! My wife and I were looking for a place that still served breakfast food at 2pm on a Sunday. We had gotten up late after a great NOLA night on Saturday. We happened to find Pepperoni's via a Google search and were so happy that we did. We recommend it highly. We were able to be seated immediately after ordering at the counter. I had the banana's foster french toast with bacon, and my wife had the turkey panini. Both were delicious, as were the mimosas and coffee. However, what really set this place apart was the service. There was one woman working the counter and handling all of the service, and she simply bent over backwards to make sure everyone felt welcome. Disappointing 4 times. I am done with 2nd chances on this place. Last stopped here for a late Saturday breakfast and we let the waitress know we were in a bit of a hurry. First, the good...the eggs in the Omelet were fluffy and perfectly done. Also, they got us turned around and out the door in 24 minutes. Kudos. Now the bad...the potatoes were microwaved. Seriously? That is a true no-no in a breakfast place. There's no excuse. Breakfast taters are cooked in batches so there should have been some ready to go. In a hurry or not, I don't want bad food and that is just plain bad. Next, the coffee was terrible: a D. How hard is it to make a decent pot of coffee? Put this one on the owner...he buys the cheapest. Across the street at Refuel the coffee is always good to excellent, at similar prices. So the coffee and potatoes ruined an otherwise good breakfast. I truly love the folks at Pepperoni's, and the food is pretty good, too! We used to balk at going here because they'd plaster our door with fliers all too frequently, but I finally took some visiting guests to get breakfast. This restaurant has consistent food and consistent service-- both of which are excellent! The waiters are always kind and attentive. I can be a real stickler for service and this place has won me over. The food is well-priced and tasty. The menu has a wide variety-- not just pizzas, but the paninis are great, too! I like the Masterpiece Pizza and the Chicken Caprese panini. Breakfast is also awesome, and it's rocking to have an easy breakfast in this neighborhood that isn't crowded all the time. Nutella Crepe is awesome, the Bananas Foster French Toast is good (although sweet and carb-coma inducing!), and they serve a solid Huevos Rancheros. I've been pleased with all of my food orders. Although I haven't done it yet, the concept of having waffles delivered to my house is enticing. Don't miss out on ordering a special drink. Raspberry Tea is remarkable, and the Mango Lemonade is to die for. We've also brought our own wine to cork and they're happy to accommodate! I like this place. I like coming by and I love bringing people to it. Came here for a quick lunch with my girlfriend on a whim. We got breadsticks to start, and they were good - freshly baked with a good sauce, and a ton of them. But her chicken caesar wrap and my chicken caprese panini were somewhat disappointing. The pita used in the wrap was not good, and they didn't use romaine lettuce, so the lack of crunch left something to be desired. And they forgot the tomatoes on my panini (not that I'm a big fan of them anyway). Our fresh squeezed lemonades were very sugary, and the whole meal seemed a little too expensive. Why was my omelet brown? The cook obviously doesn't know how to cook eggs. Overdone, brown eggs made into a lazy semi-folded omelet. The description seemed great on paper. I was expecting a fluffly omelet filled with spinach, peppers, sundried tomatoes, and cheese. I received an overcooked salty egg mess with vegetables randomly stuck into it. In addition to the burnt, brown parts, the rest of the omelet was an odd gray color(which I assume is from the pan). The only reason I went here is because Refuel doesn't do takeout on the weekends. It's true that I am no longer hungry but I don't think I'll be back to Pepperoni's Cafe for their breakfast. I was looking for a place to treat my friend and son for breakfast. We were hungry. We were in an unfamiliar area, but we had several restaurants to choose from as we stood on a street corner figuring it out. One of our choices was Pepperoni's Cafe, a name suggestive of an Italian restaurant -- but it's not. Just ask Maritza, the proprietor. She's Guatemalan, and her husband is from Belize. They make a good team and together they run the restaurant. They are warm and friendly and both of them came by our table to serve our food and talk. They have been the owners of Pepperoni's for 21 years. Maritza explained that they inherited the name, but the food choices are theirs alone. They are good ones, too. I had a New Orleans "muffuletta." It's like an Italian sub done New Orleans style. It includes a mix of olive salad, ham, salami, mortadella, capicola and melted cheese on a slightly toasted bun. Thanks to Salvatore Lupo, a grocer who is widely credited with serving the first one muffuletta, restaurants have been serving the muffuletta in New Orleans for over 100 years. The name comes for the bread used to make the sandwich. The one I had was served hot, filled my plate, and it was large enough to satisfy the biggest appetite, mine! It was massive. The roasted potatoes were a let down as they were simply under salted hash browns. The food was a pleasant surprise. The service was decent. They definitely tried. The manager lady came and brought us 2 Glamour magazines and a week old Where Yat magazine and put them on the table. We didn't care for that too much as none of us were there to read Glamour magazine at brunch. Last complaint was the dubstep and edm that was playing. Way too early in the am to be dropping the bass. This place is one of New Orleans best kept secrets. 70's decor, spotlessly clean, family friendly, great service & excellent comfort based food. My friend had a pizza loaded with veggies, & sausage. What a happy accident that we wandered into this place! We were leaving a painting party around the corner, on our way back to the St Charles streetcar, and saw a sign for Mango Mimosas in the window. That caught our attention, and we stopped in for "just a quick drink". The amazing aromas that greeted us inside begged us to stay for lunch. Boy, am I glad we stopped! First, the service is off-the-charts great; they weren't pushy about leaving menus when we said we were just having drinks. When they brought a complimentary order of handmade breadsticks, I knew we were goners! I normally avoid anything with the word "vegetarian" in the name, but the Vegetarian Lasagna was beyond my imagination! Layers of squash, zucchini, eggplant and ricotta cheese in marinara and thick noodles with fresh basil...still thinking about it days later! Others at my table tried the Crawfish Pasta, Calzones and Muffalettas, and we wrapped everything up with a yummy Chocolate Cannoli. All of it was fabulous!
