There is no shade on the grounds so much of the time was spent standing in the hot sun. Waiting to get into an airboat was a bit chaotic and tiresome. There were shade canopies along the queue but they were not deployed for some reason. Staff seemed a bit disorganized, groups were confused on where to go and given mixed directions from staff members. The experience on the boat was nice and we saw a variety of wildlife. The captain was knowledgeable and spotted alligators quickly. The gator show was fun but short. The host Paul was funny and engaging, the entire audience was captivated. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our highlight was getting to hold a baby alligator and knowing that our money was going to one of the only no kill gator rescues!

We had an outstanding all-day tour with Everglades Day Safari and couldn't recommend it more…read more Thanks to the owner, Pete, we were able to squeeze it in on our last day in the Miami area, even though our group didn't meet the minimum number of guests. Our guide, Marc, was energetic, extremely knowledgeable, and very considerate of our individual interests, which made the experience feel personal rather than scripted. Pickup was easy and convenient at a location near the Miami airport, and the clean, comfortable van made the drive across southern Florida along the Tamiami Trail enjoyable. The airboat ride was a highlight--we got up close and personal with alligators sunning themselves despite the chilly weather, which was unforgettable. The day ended with a phenomenal boat ride with an excellent captain on the west coast through and around the mangrove islands, where we saw dolphins, white pelicans, cormorants, and an impressive variety of other waterfowl. Overall, this was a highly educational and entertaining day from start to finish. A perfect way to experience the Everglades and Florida's unique ecosystems.

Alex was our captain and was great the entire trip. Super friendly, easy to talk to, and did a nice job pointing out houses, yachts, and different spots along the water without overdoing it. The whole ride was relaxing and never felt rushed. If you're looking for something different to do in Fort Lauderdale that's actually worth it, I'd definitely recommend them.

This was the second time I did one of River of Grass Adventure's boat tours. Both times, my guides…read more/ boat Captains were great. They are passionate about the Everglades, preserving it, and really love what they're doing. For about hour, we zipped and stopped around the park, through channels in between the high saw grass, over grassy flats, and within a few canals dredged many years ago. The fresh air felt great and I think maybe my blood pressure eased for a few moments. We saw wildlife, including a peregrine falcon, other birds and of course, many alligators, either resting on the grass or swimming off to do whatever it is they do. The guides I think know pretty much where to find the alligators, some of which have names. River of Grass is one of the first swamp tours west of Miami off of highway 41 past the casino. The boats take you pretty far into the Everglades where you don't see or hear any civilization, only the quiet rustle of the grass, i.e. when the engines are not powering the boat thru the glades (why can't they make a quieter engine?). Captain Gerald took amazing care of us, taking us into nooks and crannies that the big boats wouldn't get to, teaching us about how locals use the wild for medicine, food, and fun. He even took us to his beautiful home in the middle of the Everglades, where we learned about his amazing work as a preservationist. I expected a fun day and walked away with so much more: a renewed love of nature, a sense of awe at the work of our local preservationists, and an expanded knowledge about the history of my home state!
