Having lunch at Alma Civita happened thanks to our tour guide during our visit to Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio. I must say, I'm happy for the detour and the torturous walk across the bridge and up the hill. Our meal was simple, yet made with the freshest of ingredients many from the owner's farm and picked that morning. We started out with a round of bruschetta, followed by a simple pasta with fresh veggies. The delicate flavors melded together to create the perfect light pasta dish. A true masterpiece. This was followed by a plate of smoked pork and potatoes. All perfectly seasoned and presented. The house wine was from their own vineyards and was a nice play on all the food presented.
