Sept 14,2023 I stopped at Pep Boys located at 2336 Boca Chica Blvd,in Brownsville, Texas. I requested an oil change for my 2019 Toyoyta, Tacoma. The assistant manager identified as Xiomara processed my request. Upon completion of vehicle inspection. I was informed that the Belt tension Assembly PostTTEnDer ,Ser Belt Poly Rib Tender needed to be be replaced due to wear tear. I requested a quote for the total and Mrs Xiomara Quoted a price of $500.00 plus tax. Upon completion of the repairs she proceeded to Process the transaction. Total Bill came out to $683.00.13. I review my bill and I discovered that Mrs Xiomara took upon herself to include warranty without my consent under ticket# 2298545 The assistant manager Xiomara further failed to Include my 20% Discount of my Oil change Pep Boy coupon. I was extremely upset and questioned why she included warranty Without my Consent and failed to include my 20% coupon. Mrs Xiomara replied I always was get warranty on my repairs and smiled. I informed her that was out right theft and unethical. It just concerns me how many poor citizens of Cameron County she has stolen from. This stores lacks being transparent and act in good faith to their customers. I requested that said charges be removed because they were not authorized by me. The store manager became frustrated and nervous it actually took her thirty minutes to modify the bill with the correct charges. The bill was processed under ticket# 2298545 store number#0766 Citizens of Brownsville hope you learn from the review. Totally unethical behavior and Simply Theft by this manager. $258.24 over charged intentionally by this unethical Assistant manager. I have been a loyal customer at this store for the past 15 years. This is the first time I've had a terrible unpleasant experience at this location. I will no longer patronized this location. Customers jus be aware of this unethical practices. read more

I was a long way from home with a slowly leaking tire and fine gentleman at Pep Boys filled my tire up at no charge. I can't say enough great things about Alfredo and David. If you need to go to a quality establishment, I highly recommend them. read more

I took my car in Friday and they tried calling my warranty service but they were not open -- I was told to bring it back in on Monday. Monday, I was there and they told me what was wrong and they assured me they would have it fixed Tuesday. They were so nice and called a Uber to send me home. I called back yesterday (Tuesday) and they said they were waiting for the part it and it will be in Wednesday (today) and they will have it ready as soon as they get the part. I called this morning (Wednesday) at about 10:30 and they said they don't have the part -- it will be in tomorrow. I have never had my car in the mechanics this long for anything. They maintain that they have to wait for the part but I have been patient and waited for the part. If you need your car back in less than a week -- DO NOT TAKE IT HERE. I am very upset over this kind of service. Look around -- there must be others that can give you a timeline and stick to it. read more

I go to a lot of auto parts store as I restore cars for my collection . This location is the worst Pep Boys store in the valley in customer service. I am ignored when I enter the store and and the parts counter guys act as if I am a bother if I ask for assistance. I always swear I'll never go back. I went to the Weslaco and Harlingen stores to continue the search for the accessory I needed and it was a completely different experience. I also noticed the prices for the same items are higher at the Brownsville store. Pep boys corporate needs to take a look at this location and make changes. read more

I went to buy tires and they put old tires on my car from 2013. I bought these tires in July 2018. And when I realised this I went back to return them they refused to correct their mistake. I have been and continue to contact their corporate office but they have been unable or unwilling to help. read more

On a Wednesday, I placed and internet order. On Thursday I received and e-mail confirming my order was ready for pick up at the store. Friday, I when to the store around 3:45 to pick up my order. They didn't know what I was talking about. I provided my order number and they didn't know an order was placed. There was no order ready for pick up! After 15 minutes, by using my name, my order was found. However, it took another 15 minutes searching for the pads. I overheard one employee tell the other in Spanish that there were 3 pads but they couldn't find them and to tell me it would be the next day before they would have it. This has to be the most disorganized store! Does not conform to the American way of doing business. My car is on jacks, I got a ride to pick up the pads and I am told it will be tomorrow!
