James and Mary Yule are getting it right! They are the originators of a great family business that has a clean conscience as well as a clean bill of health!
Yule Organic is based at Penylan Farm in Dingestow, Monmouth, and is for me at least, what living in Wales is all about! They supply, 'freezer packs' of well-hung organic lamb and Aberdeen Angus beef to order, as well as producing the finest lamb rugs from their organic lambs. These are also organically tanned.
Golden Lamb Rugs are essentially fleeces that are 'lovingly produced' from organically reared lambs that are biodynamically tanned locally to the highest levels of professionalism.
Their website offers a boon of information, featuring all the good reasons to go organic... here's one of them:
"On average, organic food contains higher levels of vitamin C and essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, iron and chromium as well as cancer-fighting antioxidants."
And here's another:
"Organic food doesn't contain food additives which can cause health problems such as heart disease, osteoporosis, migraines and hyperactivity. Amongst the additives banned by the Soil Association are hydrogenated fat, aspartame (artificial sweetener) and monosodium glutamate."
And one more for luck:
"Over 400 chemical pesticides are routinely used in conventional farming and residues are often present in non-organic food. The UK government has recently found high levels of pesticide residues in baby food, spinach, dried fruit, bread, apples, celery, and chips."
