This place wont necessarily save you money but it will save you on time. I loved the book section and thought they had a fantastic selection, everything from traveling with babies, to volunteering, to eating your way through the world. I came in to buy my sister a present, but ill come here again for inspiration and to let my mind wonder a bit. They carry all sorts of gear, tools, gadgets and journals. Literally a dream shop for wunderlust people.

This shop has the potential to be a good shop, a shop that one would like to revisit often, but it…read moreis not. The norwegians are infamous for giving a poor customer service and that is a bit sad really. Mainly because this is a travel shop and one would suppose that the people who work in it have some experience with dealing with people and especially with people from other cultures/nationalities. Perhaps it has to do with the posh area of Frogner... It would probably be a bit more chilled out and friendly in Grunnerloka. I have shopped from here 4 times. There is a good assortment of things. Things that can be found somewhere else too, but here they are in a more relevant travel context. Unfortunately the prices here are not the best either. I gave 2 stars because a shop is not made only by its merchandise, it is mainly made by its people. And most of them look really bored and not communicative. Especially for a world travel shop.

The store can be compared to Goodwill or Salvation Army or Oxfam, but in a smaller scale. Some items are overpriced but then again, they won't sell anyways. Nice staff and orderly!

Think more quality clothing, much higher prices and no staff to be found. This store carried men/womens clothing, shoes, and then downstairs is full of household goods, glassware, cds/dvds/boxsets, books, and knic knacks. So for variety of items they probably deserve a 5. But for location and prices of the items 1 star. Their stores are not easily accessible by public transit and therefore you need to have access to a car. They do not have sales here, or mark items down at all from what I saw. I thrift shop all over the world and never have I seen such high prices for basic things, not even name brand items. Name brand items were costing 3 times as much as they would anywhere else in europe. My overall opinion of Oslo's "thrift" arena is stay away. Hit the local flea markets in the schools instead, you won't be finding any bargains here.

I visited, and learned about coins, in such stores long before the internet. I was graciously received, and I purchased a silver penny of Olaf Kyrre, a group of aurelianiani of Aurelian and Probus (clearly from a hoard), AE3 and AE4 nummi (including a superb specimen of Hannibalianus, the ill fated nephew of Constantine and intended king of Armenia), and a silver stater of Aspendus (Slinger/wrestlers). It was a delightful morning, and I plan to return whenever I am in Oslo.
