Zehlendorfer Hof is located in a quiet neighbourhood, a pleasant walk from the Zehlendorf station…read more It offers a nice selection of comfort dishes, prepared with care and honesty.
I went there on a weekday evening. There day had been hot, and getting a cool drink was very pleasant. A piece of bread and olives were complimentary. The restaurant was not too busy, but many patrons were enjoying the outdoor seats. The menu was in German only, and the staff had very limited English (I searched their menu on their website beforehand and Google translated everything, so it was not a problem). I ordered one of the "Old Berlin" dishes, veal schnitzel with vegetables (Kalbsschnitzel "Gärtnerin"), which came fairly quickly, piping hot. The schnitzel was thin, fairly tender, with a pleasantly gritty and fine crumb. The meat was well seasoned and delicious with the potatoes. The vegetables were simply prepared (steamed, salt, oil), perhaps from a frozen mix.
A good and filling dish, in a great neighbourhood restaurant deserving of loyalty.
