Ahh, who doesn't love the smell of an old bookstore?! This is a small locally owned bookstore that's big on books! The variety and selection of books are wide and varied - classics, instructional, documentaries, arts, foreign (French were the ones I saw).
The aisles are narrow and there's not a readily recognizable method of organization, with many books lying on the floor next to the filled bookcases. However it was fun just taking my time and browsing down each aisle. (One should never visit a bookstore with time constraints.)
I found and purchased a great find - "The Blue Carbuncle" by A. Conan Doyle. It's a limited edition of about 1,500 copies, and it's the very first standalone book from the Baker Street Irregulars society (New York - 1948. It includes Christopher Morley's preface, the full story, and a note on the Irregulars themselves. It's in very good condition and has a really nice slipcase. I'm really looking forward to reading it! It was a great value which I bought for $20. !!
I love going to old bookstores. It's like treasure hunting! This place has treasures waiting to be found. Be sure to check it out! read more
