I first met Penny at a bridal show, and immediately loved her. She's got a quick wit, a creative eye, and really works to make any photo session a pleasure. We had our engagement photos taken, and Penny chose some locations that fit our personality as a family perfectly. She captured absolutely brilliant pictures of our wedding, enough so that we can't decide which to print out and hang in our house, they're all beautiful. It's been a year and half since our wedding and I'm still not sure how to describe how incredible Penny & Earl are. - Weddings are stressful; I'm sure you're already stressed and you're just at the beginning stages of planning. Penny & Earl are perfect for you. - It's easy to get snowballed by the all of the day of events going on, even with the best planning, somethings will go wrong and you might have start to miss the point that; Hey! It's your wedding day! If you want a team that are going to be reassuring, fun, and remind you to take a breath and enjoy the day... Penny & Earl are perfect for you. (Side Story: the morning of my wedding I noticed the cleaners had stained a "large" section of the top of my dress that the hanger was hiding... when Penny walked in the room she was so reassuring that the stain, that I thought was THE WORST THING TO EVER HAPPEN, was not. She reminded me that this is not what I should focus on, that I will look beautiful no matter what, and that nothing should take away from what today is. After speaking for a brief moment with Penny I realized this stain was much smaller than I originally allowed myself to think and that she was correct; this is not the end of the world. In just that instance Penny unknowingly saved the day). If you want a team that CARES about you and is not just there for a paycheck then... If you want a team that you can TRUST to have your photo list memorized, prioritized, and captured beautifully then Penny & Earl are perfect for you. - If you've ever been in a wedding party you know how excruciating those group photos can be... the waiting... the wishing you could enjoy the cocktail hour with all the other guests... it's cold, it's hot, you need to pee.... they can be the worst. But I can tell you that even in the 36 degree TEXAS freak weather our group photos were FUN. They went by quickly because of how efficiently Penny & Earl were. I'm not biased even my mom (who is cold in 70 degree weather) said she had so much fun that she didn't realize we had taken so many poses. If you want a team that is going to make the mundane FUN then... Penny & Earl are perfect for you. The photos were beautiful. I mean it.. BEAUTIFUL. I receive compliments on them daily (from social media) and in fact one of my photos is an award winning photo! YEAH.. THEY'RE AWARDING WINNING PHOTOGRAPHERS. I'm not sure how they were able to capture the laughter, tears, and LOVE in a still photo but they did. Looking through my photos I feel like the wedding was just yesterday. Again- I'd like to think that this review does Penny & Earl justice.. but it just doesn't. By far, the BEST decision we ever made was choosing to go with this fantastic team. We found Penny at our local Bridal Extravaganza and were blown away by her personality and photography skills. Penny was great to work with because of how nice and easy going she is. She really has a way of making you feel relaxed so that she can capture the "real you". Penny has a lot of imagination so along with the traditional shots, she is able to capture some amazing one-of-a-kind portraits that really tell a story. The day of our wedding, Penny was very discrete and was able to take amazing pictures without getting in the way of the ceremony or event. At the reception she was able to get in the middle of the action and capture the scene (like a ninja!). I reached out to Penny for a boudoir photoshoot. I planned on using the photos as a gift for my fiance on our wedding day. I've never done a photoshoot like this before and I was worried it would be uncomfortable. It turned out to be exactly the opposite, Penny has an incredible warm, fun personality and I had a blast! Penny was flexible on the location but I suggested meeting at my house because it's a fairly intimate photoshoot. I'm really glad that she offered coaching and tips for some poses because I was clueless about how to pose, especially for this style of photography. Most importantly, she made me feel comfortable and I would do another photoshoot with her in a heartbeat! I'm a hobby photographer myself so high quality photos are something that really matter to me and I tend to judge photography pretty harshly. When I got the photos back, I was blown away. I love how much variety she has to offer - wedding, family, children, couples, portraits, pets - this woman seems to do it all as long as she has a camera with her! I asked her to do some glamour shots for me, and of course, she was game. She was prompt, on time, and prepared. For someone who wanted photos done of her, I am totally awkward in front of a camera, but Penny coached me right through it, and helped me relax. I could not have asked for someone more helpful! We found Penny at a bridal fair in Minneapolis and won her basic wedding package in a drawing. We ended up upgrading for extra time on the day of the wedding and engagement pictures. Penny and her second shooter Earl (who is also her husband - how cool is that?!) were absolutely incredible to work with! For starters, we had our engagement photo session (which Penny fondly calls the adventure session) in February at a state park filled with beauty and snow - lots of snow. We decided to have two outfits - one formal wear and one more casual. Penny made us look like Vogue models in these outfits out in the beautiful wilderness!! We were just blown away by how the photos turned out. She was clearly an expert and gave us breaks to warm up and handwarmers to put on our noses to keep them from looking red. These photos have been shared profusely and proudly hang in our house. We can't thank her enough for capturing our relationship. Then for the big day, Earl joined Penny. The two were so fun to work with and they were very patient with our bridal party personalities! The suggested a first look with the bride and her dad, which was such a heart-melting moment. We never would have thought of that and absolutely love it. Then they captured some gorgeous pictures in the church and with extended family. She is also excellent at handling people that come up with phones and other cameras while we are trying to get our formal shots. We loved having Penny on the trolley with the bridal party to record our fun there! And of course at the reception at the country club where she took pictures of us inside and out with our loved ones. Not only did we love the photos we received from them, but we feel like we made a new couple friend which we look forward to enjoying in the future!
