In my experience, the process required…read moresigning numerous fine-print authorizations on the salesperson's laptop that effectively gave the contractor control over insurance payments and communications with my insurance company. I was repeatedly told not to worry because they would "take care of everything" and that my only responsibility would be paying the deductible. Several months later, after the company had already collected substantially more from the insurance carrier than I believed the work justified, I received what was described as a "final invoice." The document still did not include an itemized breakdown of charges, only a total amount due, and it included charges for work that I do not believe was completed. In addition Rhoden charges a 2.9% fee for using a debit card. Since Federal law makes it illegal to charge a processing fee for debit card transactions (Durbin Amendment to the Dodd-Frank Act), Rhoden plays the word game to try to grab another dollar by calling the fee a "convenience fee". Hiring Rhoden Roofing was a decision I regret. Based on my experience, I strongly encourage homeowners dealing with storm damage or insurance claims to be extremely cautious about assigning insurance payments or claim authority to a contractor they do not know and fully trust. I also strongly recommend obtaining multiple detailed, itemized estimates from reputable roofing companies before signing any agreements or authorizations.

When insurance initially denied the claim, I was told a reinspection would be handled. Instead, it was rescheduled over and over with different excuses. When they finally came out, they showed up without the right ladder and said they'd rely on the original photos anyway. I called the office hoping to work with someone else, but no follow-up there either. As of 10/13, I was told new photos would be submitted for another reinspection. Still nothing. This continued until all were working on removing the old, and then one group started the new roof while another worked at solving one snafu; a need for new ducting. Once that was finished and they had the one area reworked, a group started replacing the solar panels. What seemed to be a daunting job that would take a couple of days (to me) wound up completely finished by 5:00, the time their on-site supervisor (I believe his name was Josh?), had predicted earlier in the day.
