My…read morewife was already last year for a couple of days at the Golf Hotel and enjoyed it very much. The Golf Hotel's slogan is "home away from home" and that's a perfect match to our stay. The staff is so friendly and welcoming - it starts a long time before your arrival with welcoming Emails where you have an easy way for an online chat if you have any questions. They do have a (self) parking garage for free. We had a wonderful, big room with mountain view and a big balcony - good equipped with chairs etc. They have a beautiful Spa area with 4 different saunas (different temperature zones). If you feel uncomfortable in a textile free sauna- they do have a textile sauna too (but I can't say anything about it). Nice indoor pool and relaxing area is completing the experience. Naturally you can book special treatments too. Due to COVID, accesses to the saunas are currently limited - but we did not face any issues or long waiting times. We did book a package with breakfast and dinner (currently in Switzerland you can only dine in a restaurant when you stay overnight in a hotel and the hotel is running the restaurant - due to Swiss government COVID lockdown restrictions). But the food was really great. For dinner you could choose 5 courses out of the restaurant's menu... á la card.They have a bunch of daily changing specials too so it isn't getting bowering at all. All was well organized for COVID rules - table separation etc. They have a well "equipped" wine list too - with reasonable prices for Switzerland. We enjoyed great dinners. For breakfast they offer a nice buffet- and that was our only minus point we could find / complain. Due to the COVID-Situation it was much too crowed in the morning at the buffet. They should have separated the flow somehow or limited the access. But still it was also up to you - it was what we did - just waiting a couple of minutes at the well "protected" table till the rush was over. The hotel is well situated and close to the train station as well as to the mountain cableway. For us it's clear this will not be the last visit to the Golf Hotel in Sannenmöser.

In fact, the waiters and housekeeping folks seemed quite put out to answer questions, attend to needs, and when they did answer questions, it was with a less than enthusiastic reply. The first room we were given had only enough towels and pillows for one person. We were moved to another room that was nicer, but we had to ask for robes for the spa. Be sure to ask about scheduling and wait times if you want to coordinate several treatments. I was only able to book one instead of the two I had planned on. The one treatment I did have was exceptional, so I'm thinking that the resources are going towards the spa and not other staff. We left to have dinner at the Ermetige and they are much more engaged with visitors and guests.

The hotel is a luxury five star hotel property. The owners of the Hotel D'Ouchy also own the Lausanne Palace, which is why all Hotel D'Ouchy gets get free access to the Lausanne Palace spa facilities. The facilities are numerous and you easily spend the day there, without ever even getting a service. Their is a sun room, outside terrace, fitness area, indoor pool, hot tub, sleeping room, hammam, dry sauna, juice bar and cafe, and treatment rooms. You are provided with a robe and slippers if needed upon entering. The changing rooms are small and there is very limited locker space. They have Aveda shampoo and shower gel so you don't need to bring that with you. They also have cheap flimsy combs in case you forget, but I recommend you bring your own as they are VERY difficult to use. They also have complimentary tooth brush w/ mini toothpaste to utilize. Also, there is only one bathroom in the changing area and two showers. The fitness area is stocked with the newest high end equipment. My only complaint is that it is VERY hot in the room and there are no fans. The pool is also VERY warm, it didn't seem like there was any difference in temperature between the pool and hot tub. I couldn't do very many laps without over heating. The dry sauna was INCREDIBLY hot. The atmosphere is relaxing, the decor is modern with Turkish touches, and everything is very clean. Their is free Aveda hot tea available to drink, and water bottles available in the fitness room. My favorite spot had to be the sleeping room, dark room with beds laid out with big cushy duvets. It was a fantastic place to catch a nap. My only complaint is that the temperature could be turned down a couple of notches. To note, their are separate hammam and dry sauna for men and women.
