Just got out of ICU last week. Dr who cared for me in hospital referred me to HIS endocrinologist for follow up- Dr Somera Ali. After DAYS of getting jerked around by the scheduling people- disconnected calls, computer malfunctions, etc. I am told that I am not sick enough to get an appointment with this endocrinologist- 1 mile from my house- and that I'm going to need to go to someone I am not being referred to - who is roughly an hour away and they have no idea who that would be. I am thoroughly unimpressed and will be seeking competent assistance elsewhere. read more

There was a time this place was highly ranked. No longer. I had been with them for over 2 decades. Do you switch easily after that kind of run. No. It takes some things to go wrong to make the decision. Staff is great. Doctors are leaving or retiring. The best ones are gone. It's filled with bench warmers. Also, they are associated with Tower Health. This is not a hospital system you want to be in. Main Line Health doctors seem to be world-class and the Main Line Medical group is a top regional player. Sorry PMA. Time to re-think what you're doing next. read more

So, after being a patient of PMA Gastroenterology for 20 years, I keep getting passed from one Doctor to another and finally end up with a Nurse Practitioner. The put me on a medication, and tell me I will be taking it for the rest of my life. When my insurance refuses to pay for it anymore, the switch me to a different but similar medication. Then, after another year or so, my insurance REFUSES to pay for that medication as well. I spent 3 months writing my 'Doctor' and asking for someone to contact my pharmacy (since I can NOT self prescribe) and they fail to do anything. Now I am OUT of that medication and can not afford the close to $2,000 to get it refilled. They STILL will not do anything to assist me. Looks like I need to find a new Specialist! read more

My doctor here is Dr. Corrigan at PMA in Pottstown. All was good in the office. I confirmed I had a $25 credit but not after I paid my $50 copay. Then I get a bill in the mail for $105!!!! I called the office in Pottstown, PA and Courtney told me pleasantly, that the bill was incorrect and I needed to call the main billing number, 1-866-270-8965. I called that number and was told I would receive a callback in 10 mins. One hour later, after not being called back, I called Courtney back who told me that she could do NOTHING about being charged bogusly. She said they have nothing to do with the fact that I received this bogus bill. After called the billing dept backI was hung up on! This is a nightmare. I called Courtney back and asked to wait to speak to Dr. Corrigan and she hung up on me!!! This is Elder Fraud. Find another doctor. read more

WORST GIs EVER. They truly do not care if you get better. They don't care if their failure to take care of you costs you your quality of life. They dont return phone calls (still waiting on a return phone call from over two months ago..) when we needed them the most they said no, knowing that saying no will affect our life for the worse. I've gone to this practice for 12-13 years. In ALL of that time, my biggest complaint will always be the office staff. There are a few individuals there that have been there 12-13 years, and they are by no stretch of the imagination nice. Actually they can be extremely rude, extremely impatient, and are frequently apathetic. If you are sick with something specific, a smile can do wonders, but don't expect anything but your insurance card, credit card, cash, etc. to be ripped out of your hand before you can even let go of them. In 12-13 years, they apparently have not realized (nor have been told) that they are the first thing people see when you walk into the office, and they are the first people you will talk to when you call or have a problem. It is a business like others, and to be successful (aka, you don't get 1 star), the staff needs to be courteous, empathetic, etc. Extremely more irritating, their rudeness extends to elderly people (the staff will frown and sigh if an older person is taking too long paying, or perhaps needs information repeated). They have the attitude where they can be ignorant to the elderly, because, perhaps, they won't hear or understand. Well, I've been the next person in line behind an elderly person being treated like that, and if it were not a doctor's office, I'd easily go ape-s**t on them for the attitude. They seem to have a good bit of turn-over in 'newer' staff, and I'm not a bit surprised, strongly and rightly assuming that the atmosphere is toxic with the office staff who have been there a long time. It's all good if you don't have any billing or insurance issues. Over 12-13 years, I've had issues, each of which were not satisfactorily resolved, and I just gave up. The one insurance issue I needed their help with, ended up costing me ~$550 worth of Quest Diagnostics bills. The office staff had dropped the ball in speaking to the doctor about my issue, and when I followed up by providing info to my doctor, they again dropped the ball. It was wasted hours of time calling Quest and Aetna and PMA, trying to coordinate the puzzle pieces. In the last 3-5 years, the wait time in the waiting room after check-in has drastically improved; average maybe 15 minutes. For years prior to that, it was common to wait 30, 45, 60, and times even longer, as they were running 'late'. Like I said though, they did improve a lot. I've seen a few doctors there, and only one (Dr. Sodacoff [spelling may be incorrect]) I didn't like. He wrote a book at some point, and he does proceed to 'plug' the book during your entire visit. He did keep reiterating the fact that I'm unhealthy and will die early. I appreciate open honest dialogue with my doctor if they are going to know my life history. A doctor would not be doing his job if they didn't point out habits / behaviors that were unhealthy and the ramifications of not changing. But I walked away from the appointment feeling a bit demoralized, and like his book, if I bought it, would be a panacea. I'm overweight and I smoke, so, yeah, I get it. The remaining doctors and nurses are genuinely kind and empathetic, but the terrible office / front desk staff drastically detract from that fact, to the point that I'm changing practices. read more
