1. They charged me for compulsory 'insurance' that I didn't want or need.
2. They charged extra for towel and linen rental, something that's never happened to me anywhere else. I paid (I think) EUR45, and was told when I arrived that it didn't include towels, so I had to buy my own.
3. I was about a week late paying the balance for my stay. Instead of sending a polite reminder, they just cancelled the booking. I had to reinstate it.
4. I went into their office to report a maintenance issue in our room. They were dealing with some other customers, and totally ignored me - there was no 'take a seat, we'll be with you in a minute'. Eventually I gave up waiting.
4. As well as the insurance, they told me I had to pay a EUR 800 breakage deposit through a site called Swikly. They said I couldn't pay by bank transfer. Swikly didn't work with either of my bank accounts, and my banks didn't know what the problem was. I told Peng, and suddenly they decided I could pay by bank transfer.
5. Worst of all, when they refunded the breakage deposit, they deducted EUR60. I asked what this was for. They said it's bank charges, and we told you about them. I said no you didn't, and no bank charges EUR60 for a transfer. I don't pay their electricity bills or their employees' salaries, so why should I pay their bank charges? I forwarded them a copy of the email they'd sent giving their bank details, which makes no mention of charging for a refund.
I insisted they repay the EUR 60, but they ignored my email.
I just didn't get a good feeling from this company. They came across as unfriendly, and intent on screwing every possible penny out of me. I would never use them again. read more
