I tried to sign up for a bank account with this bank to get an account, so that I could sign up for a mortgage with them.
Instead of seeing my 820 credit score and my new address and approving me for deposits right away, and considering me for a mortgage, they saw that my new Puerto Rico address conflicted with the previous address from my credit report, causing them to create an inquiry on my credit without granting me an account, thus lowering my credit score for no reason.
When I asked how to correct the situation, they asked for my drivers license, which I had with me, as well as my social security card, which I did not. I keep that locked up in a safe place, not carried around on my person where it can be stolen.
The staff who tried to help me were very polite, very knowledgeable, and very helpful, ... but there's only so much they can do when your corner-office-designed processes are this screwed up. Your processes may be good for you, and they let you efficiently wash your hands of things as far as fraud goes ... but I hope you enjoy your 1 star rating because I'm the first person to rate this location ... so this is what you get when you try to cut corners and make things easy for the corner office, rather than making them easy for the customer.
This is the VPs' fault, not that if the workers. Read this review carefully, because I'm the 1 out of 100 people it happened to that actually wrote something about it.
I will now apply using a different bank, rather than using your bank.
If this has been because of a requirement from the government, then I guess it's lobbying time, isn't it.
Cheers! :-) read more
