Because of this, I have tried every type of hair removal (besides electrolysis) and after having one eyebrow longer than the other, rashes, burn marks and just all around uncomfortable experiences, I became a fan of threading. When I came to Chile I searched off and on for 2 years before I came across this small beauty salon, Carolina. They were hiding an absolute treasure: Majida. Majida is a recent transplant from Palestine, and honestly one of my favorite women in Chile. Despite not speaking much Spanish (and even less English), she really knows what she is doing! Her magic fingers and superior talent leaves me mustache free and with perfectly shaped eyebrows every time. She also listens. If you want thicker eyebrows, more space in the middle, more off the top etc she will do it (and nothing more). A good threader is hard to come by (especially in Santiago since there isn't much of a threading culture) but I have come to trust Majida with my face. I recommend her and Carolina Salon. The prices are incredibly affordable. 5 mil for eyebrows and mustache. Tip: Majida doesn't work Mondays. Call ahead of time to make an appointment, but keep in mind that sometimes (especially in the afternoons) there might be a 15 minute wait - despite having made the appointment. She takes walk-ins.

Salon Carolina is clean, inexpensive, and the staff are super friendly. I love going here for an eye brow threading. For those who don't know threading is a type of hair removal. I find it way more efficient than waxing and it last longer. Although is it super painful, I love always leaving Carolina's with perfectly shaped eyebrows and it's only 4 mil. They also do hair, nails, and waxings. They are really flexible and will always try to fit you in for those last minute appointments. I always schedule an appointment to be on the safe side, however they do take walk-ins as well. The outside has fun decor of a woman with long hair painted across the building. For a new comer the salon might be hard to recognize apart from this painting. I love the lighting on the inside too, very warm and the spiral staircase to get to their upstairs area is very charming.

After choosing the type of pedicure we wanted we paid before service which I think is nice because it allows you to relax for the remainder of the time. Semi difficult to find but it is located right across the street from "La Casa" the mall. There is a entrance that says "Plaza Peru" and 3051 is written on the front. Excellent wifi, clean, well organized, and all the staff were very nice and accommodating as well.

She is my go to person whenever I need that last minute wax. Super reliable, professional and somehow makes getting a Brazilian wax a fun experience (even with all the pain, hehe). Her salon is super small but has everything you could want, relaxing music, comfortable, and most important super clean. When getting a wax in Chile I have found that most salons will reuse their wax on multiple clients, something I just do not see as sterile in anyway, shape or form. Gabriela is one of the few who DOES NOT follow this practice, which I personally really appreciate. She offers a variety of massage, facials, and waxes. You can contact Gabriela through email, phone, or my personal favorite send her a Whatsapp. She is so accommodating and is always able to fit you in one way or another, not surprising, she gets a lot of clients.

All of the hair dressers have their hair and makeup put together with that badass but totally galmorous at-the-same-time MAC type of style. Not only is this a great beauty salon to get your haircut and any other beauty need such as nails or waxing but they rock at styling. The hair dressers specialize in creating spectacular hair dos for important events - but especially known by many for their work with brides and bridal parties. They did my friends wedding as well as the wedding party and we were amazed! As soon as we walked in they made sure we had a place to sit and were offered all different types of treats to assure we were comfortable and having a good time. We were even allowed to open up a bottle of champagne to enjoy while getting our hair done. The bride got her hair done with an amazing braid and flowers intermittently place - absolutely beautiful! I think they are especially good at achieving the hairstyles you only see in fashion magazines. Another great thing about this salon is that if you are unhappy with any look (hey, sometimes it happens) you have 7 days to say you weren't happy and get another hairstyle done. If you want to come with a group of friends like we did, make sure to call and reserve in advance as this hip salon gets booked fast! It is not cheap but definitely worth it for special events.
