As it is now, there is a large counter where you place your order on the left, pay, and are given a reciept number. And then you take a step back, and wait for your number to be called, so you can pick up your order on the right side of the counter. If you get something simple, like chicken, ribs or rice, you'll receive food fairly quickly. However, if your order includes items that need more preparation, you will wait quite a bit longer. Actually had to come in and try this place when I saw a great video about it on Instagram. Claimed to have the best chicken and ribs ever and I will say they are preeeeeetty darn good. The ribs were charred on the outside and so so tasty. If you're feeling in a meaty mood these ribs will hit the spot. The chicken was delicious too. Don't forget the green sauce! The lomo saltado was aaaaaamazingggggg. Had this citrusy hint to it that made it all even better. The fried yuca was not so great. Wasn't really fried well. Mostly soggy with hard yuca inside. There's a sign outside that says "best chicken in town" so I was pretty pumped. The food is pretty darn delicious. For $10, you can get half a chicken, fried rice and a side salad. I usually get a quarter chicken but I got greedy. The chicken is rotisserie style and might be one of the best rotisserie chickens I've ever tried. The fried rice was slightly too greasy but it was good. There was nothing special about the salad. The soup was pretty delicious as well. Wow; what amazing delicious chicken. I've never come here because there's always a line; also they were closed for the quarantine. It has since opened, and the lines are much smaller (if there even is one) and I'm so glad I came here. Peking BBQ has two things they do well, ribs and chicken. Both are falling off the bone juicy and delicious. Coming here, I went with the standard #1, half a chicken with white rice and beans -- just over $10. It was incredibly wonderful. One big thing to note is that their beans are great. More often than not, places that offer rice and beans totally phone it in; the rice and beans are bland and really are just filler for whatever protein is the star. That's not the case here; the beans are great and the surprise was appreciated. If you're in the area, for sure stop by and get something to eat. I haven't gone to every restaurant in the area, but it's the best rotisserie chicken I've had here. A friend recommended us to this place saying he's been eating at this place for over 25 years and claimed they have the best bbq ribs. Since I'm a bbq ribs lover so I got to give it a try! I was so disappointed with this place. The ribs had no taste except oil. They were the greasiest ribs I've ever had. The fried rice was barely edible. I was so sad to be so let down. Ribs are my favorite food and although they were tender I didn't think there could be a rib I would hate this much! I tried the chicken too and that was decent. It's worth the wait. After a lot of hype, got to try the chicken and spareribs from Peking BBQ. As accompaniments, fried rice, plaintains (yes!), salad (personal ew), beans, and green sauce (lots and lots of green sauce). The line can be quite daunting at times, I would recommend asking for a predicted wait time and returning 10min before then to pick up your food. This was our first time there over the weekend as my wife was in the mood for some bbq. We didn't want to eat in and rather order to go. When we call the number, it didn't allow us to put in our order. So having drove there, we saw a flood of people and we figure probably it won't take that long to get our order. Boy were we wrong. It took us about 1/2 hour to get our order. I just think it has to do with the high traffic of customers and the fact that we were told that our chicken was being cooked. So we ordered some bbq spare ribs which was pretty good and meaty. The chicken itself was pretty tender too and we got some rice and beans as well as plantains. This is a beloved spot in the area but I think a lot of the reviews are more hype nowadays than anything. I've been eating here for over a decade since I've lived a few blocks away my whole life but the last few times I've went I've noticed a dramatic drop in the quality of the food. It really used to be the best rotisserie chicken you could get, extremely juicy and flavorful but the last 3 times I've gone the chicken was dry and extremely salty. I waited to try it a few more times before writing this review in case I just got unlucky but now I'm confident in saying that the food just isn't that good anymore. They also keep raising the prices and decreasing the portions as you used to get much more rice as well. When I first heard of Peking BBQ, I admittedly thought it was going to be a Chinese joint centered around Peking Duck / Northern Chinese KaoRou (BBQ). Instead, I learned it was a straight up divey Peruvian rotisserie chicken joint, served up by Chinos from Latin America. There is a lot of love for the pollos in this brasa in these parts, and Peking BBQ serves them up as good as anyone in Queens. An option for a hearty, inexpensive meal, this pollera is definitely among the gems of Woodside. There are lines here on the weekends, mainly Hispanic locals just looking to score something good to eat. Most of the patrons will order en espanol, which is amusing to see the Chino guys in the back speaking it with ease. It's equally amusing to watch them get thrown off when a little Mandarin is spoken their way, but for those of you reading, English is for sure - no problemo. Inside, Peking BBQ looks like a narrow cafeteria, complete with bland decor and a not so group friendly layout. I wouldn't recommend using those bathrooms and I would recommend staking claim to a table while someone else does the ordering. There are orange trays and self serve clean up. There is nothing fancy here, so don't try to make this place more than what it is. Like any quality dive, people are here for the food and nothing more. Similarly to the many rotisserie chicken joints in Queens, the pollo here is definitely tasty. It's not too oily and the skin just has the right amount of crisp with a decent amount of rub / seasoning. The best part of it all? The juiciness and steam emanating as you carve into the meat. Served with a bed of fries and rice as well as the ever addicting salsa verde (green sauce), this makes for a fantastic meal for under $6.00. Lastly, there are folks who are sure to come here on the premise of scoring Chinese food, which to some degree Peking BBQ has. Just imagine Chinese takeout food with perhaps a little bit of a Latin twist and that's essentially what's available here. Fried rice, lo mein, broccoli dishes, etc. are the choices. This Chinese/Peruvian place may look like a grimey old takeout place, but you can't always judge places by appearances. I can guarantee you that the roast chicken here is delicious! I have been coming here since I was a kid. The chicken they serve here is similar to the kind you find at Pio Pio. It is very soft, tender, and moist and comes right off the bones. Coupled with the green sauce that they give, the taste is simply amazing. You can get the chicken with either pork fried rice or french fries. I also recommend the lomo salteado here. My family and I have been coming here for years. Its not a place where you come to eat but just order take out. They wont take orders over the phone so you have to come and wait but it goes by fast. When I decided I didn't want to go out to dinner for my bday I couldn't think of a better place to order inexpensive fast food then here. I always get the chicken since its very juicy and great flavor, pork fried rice and fried yucca (cassava).
