This little place does a good coffee and sit down snack foods…read more But it's wow for me was their cakes. I ordered one from here when I turned 40 and would do it again in a heart beat. I needed a cake for 200 and they obliged quite easily and with friendly service. The cake was a chocolate caramel mud cake with a chocolate fudge icing. What my guests didn't eat I kept in the freezer and ate for the next few months. Yes.. it was just that awesome. :)

The open prep area gives off a tradies haunt kind of vibe but they usually spot good food if not great presentation. Gave it a shot as they also had cakes on display which I was needing to get for a family dinner that night. I picked the chocolate cake to take away, BLT wrap with chicken for my partner, chicken and Camembert wrap for me, a coke and an iced chocolate. I'm used to iced chocolates being generously topped with whipped cream but this one had none so that was a bit sad. I was drawn to my wrap as Christmas isn't far away and I instantly connected the delicious duo of Camembert and cranberry. Oddly it was put together with a Mexican theme instead with sweet chilli, avocado and sour cream. It was delicious and not a let down without the cranberry sauce. Both wraps were massive and well filled. My partner especially enjoyed the bacon, tomato and mayo flavour combo. There was a lunch deal of a pie and coke for $6 and definitely bring along your entertainment voucher. The cake itself was just over $41 but with the discount I got it and all our lunch order for only $51. The size of the wraps are definitely what sealed it for me though. I love big portions!

Pair a cupcake, or hazelnut macaroon, or savoury breakfast tart with a Campos Coffee and you have a morning or afternoon tea fit for a queen, or you know, your Mum or Grandmother.

I'm not sure if the business was sold or what happened, but the business has changed. I was recently placed on a gluten free diet and went there for some bread. I was out of luck. The two ladies serving were abrupt, rude and unhelpful. Bread must be preordered. The once interesting desserts are now just boring cupcakes and the sandwiches all contained meat. We were clearly not welcomed to stay for a 2pm lunch or coffee. We left with a small gf roll that cost almost $7 and a brownie. The gf roll was pleasant and reasonably fresh, the brownie was dry and average. But frankly, the rudeness, the expense and the sharp decline of service and the menu has meant we avoid this place like the plague. They now also have a location at the Junction (Petite Belle). In short, horrendously rude and unhelpful staff, exceptionally expensive andthe desserts are now average and if you are looking for gf bread, you'll have to preorder it.

Walking into Hello Naomi, a self-proclaimed 'cake, cookie and cupcakes' cafe, I hand on my heart…read moreexpected coffee to be the after thought. The thing they thought they better serve for people to drink while eating cakes. I half expected a stock standard coffee roast to line the walls. How wrong was I!? My eyes lit up upon noticing the bag of coffee in the window was from Melbourne's Small Batch. A treat was indeed in store and I asked if they still had the beans running in the grinder. Our barista pointed to the almost gone beans in the grinder and said this was the last of it before they switch to some locally roasted blends. Okay. Sign us up. Two flat whites please. To be fair, I should have ordered a long black to get the best of these bean's flavour. But what makes this cup of coffee stand out against the cafes stark white walls, Scandinavian furniture and peach wash accents, is the man behind the machine. As he delivered our coffees he explained that they weren't the taste he'd prefer to serve. The water here, you see, is apparently "too clean" and this alters the flavour profile of the beans. Thankfully, he says, the milk somewhat masks the tartness present in the brew. This initial warning turns into a 20 minute conversation about coffee, his adventures in finding the right water for their coffee and his time living in Brisbane. Turns out that this is a surprisingly great spot for coffee- and you can have your cake and eat it too (but on this occasion I didn't although by the speed with which my partner devoured his salted caramel cupcake I'm guessing the same level of love, passion and care is put into their baking as is their coffee).

A gorgeous little bakery fit out, an absolutely magical place... until you walk in the door…read more There's no atmosphere, and the staff are very cold and stand-offish. Buying things in there is a genuinely uncomfortable experience. The in-store selection is very small, with around four things on offer each day. The cupcakes we chose were overwhelmed by buttercream, no matter what flavour they were meant to be. And they are significantly smaller than they were when Hello Naomi originally opened, though the prices have stayed the same. At Christmas, one iced biscuit was $7 for the smallest, simplest option - very sad when I only had five dollars on me! The honey-jumble biscuits (iced pink and white, similar to gingerbread) were nice, and the salted caramel and brownie sandwich is deliciously chocolatey, though buttercream again takes centerstage. Overall, a sweet-looking place that doesn't quite live up to the polished magic of the shop window and fit-out.
