This place is absolutely incredible!! It is NOT easy to find, but when you do, man, it's amazing!! We asked many people along the way who only spoke Portuguese. (If you say "inferno", they'll know what you mean). We managed to translate "orange trees" and "watch your head". Both solid bits of advice....Follow the lower path to the left of the orange trees. Stay to the right under the trees and then go right. Go under bamboo trees and down the steep hill. Listen for the falls. Watch every step! There are some poles sticking out places, some cacti and other things you will not want to step or trip on.
Bring towels, swim gear and even goods to picnic!
If you're feeling adventurous I say come, but it may take you a bit to find. Hope that your see others heading that way or actually don't, because then you'll have it all to yourself, and it's quite dreamy when it's all yours.
There's a rope swing you can reach from a higher rock and it's not terribly far to swim out to the falls.
The water is gorgeous and it's not too deep. A bit chilly, but you won't care!
Be mindful of sunset though, as it will be very difficult and dangerous to head back out in the dark.
You cannot drive directly to the falls but it's not too long of a hike. Definitely WORTH THE EFFORT! read more
