If you understand your history and you're in the area this is a great quick stop. We drove up from Germany for a week long WW II site seeing educational trip and started here. Felt unreal to walk across the actual bridge and see the terrain and artifacts at the museum.

OK, the bridge is the new bridge and the original is at the memorial. However, they have made a great replica and, of course, crossing the river is a must as is visiting the three sites where the first gliders landed. read more
Le Pont de Bénouville Construit en 1934, le Pegasus Bridge s'appelait en fait le Pont de Bénouville. Ce pont basculant long de 42,20 mètres et large de 9,70 mètres a été capturé intact au cours de la nuit du 5 au 6 juin 1944 par les troupes aéroportées britanniques du major howard. Bénouville fut ainsi la première ville libre de France.
