In November last year, I contacted several companies about some tree work. Ken from Big John's came…read moreout and gave an estimate with advice about the company being insured. The decision was made to use Big John's. Ken said they would be here before the end of the year. However with the weather this winter, rain and winter storms that didn't happen. In March, Big John's said they were backed up and had sub contracted the work. The other comps came out and we discussed the work to be done, including taking two trees down. One was causing issues with a fence and the other tree was dead. The next week they showed up and took down two trees. One tree removed was a healthy tree providing shade to a back patio and the dead tree remained. I complained. They offered to take the tree down that was to be removed for free. Great! I have paid for that tree. How about replacing the one that should not have been removed? Ken asked if that would suffice and I agreed as long as it was an older tree. Neither company wants to follow through with the replacement. If you need tree work go elsewhere. If the company is not going to use its insurance to make up for its mistake, what does it matter?
