All problems were relayed to us so we could decide. After replacing the deck, deck stairs and wall by the spa we have a great looking area. On Friday, August 13th I left my house at approximately 10:00 am. When I returned an hour later…read morethere was a huge pile of crushed rock at the entrance of my driveway blocking access to my house. A couple of hours later (approximately 12:00 to 1:00PM) a dump truck pulled up on the side of the road. The driver got out and explained that the load of rock was dropped off by accident. After a bit of conversation, I gave the driver my business card and asked him to have his employer call me) or email me) to arrange to move the rock. Note: I specifically told the driver (twice) that the email and phone number on the card was valid, but the physical address was no longer in use. Never heard a thing. No email. No messages. Nothing. I eventually had to hire someone at a cost of $300, including 20 hours of my own time to clean up the mess. A week later I was sent an invoice by James Drayton for the crushed rock, to the address identified on the business card as no longer valid, along with a statement obviously to reflect past due payments. Having been in business myself previously, I assume this was done to initiate some kind of collection agency proceedings. I have since been informed from multiple sources that this may not have been an accident at all. Turns out that James Drayton has a reputation for so called 'accidents' that often result in an invoice, followed up by the threat of a contractor's lien on the homeowner's property, and threats of a collection agency and lawyers getting involved if the invoice isn't paid promptly (with strictly cash I might add). I'm filing this complaint not only to get a reimbursement for my expenses, but to put a stop to this 'Fraud' in its tracks. I choose not to be another victim of James Drayton fraudulent and unethical business practices. I have a neighbor who originally ordered the rock who can corroborate the details of the rock. As well as another gentleman who was present during the conversation with the driver, when he was explicitly told twice not to use the address on the business card, and to have his boss call me to arrange pickup of the rock. I am also currently in the process of investigating filing criminal charges in this matter, along with a small claims lawsuit to be compensated for my expenses and time, and also filing a complaint with the BBB. Since the original complain to the BBB, I have been contacted by a lawyer representing James Drayton. Obviously this is meant to part of the 'Drayton' intimidation and I can only speculate that this is part of his pattern of his fraud, as the letter threatens to countersue me for breach of contract (which there was none) among other things. The letter also claims that I have 'changed my mind' about purchasing rock and no longer want to pay for it. Let's be clear. I never ordered rock. I never changed my mind. And I don't appreciate the threats from his lawyer. James Drayton knows exactly what he did. He just doesn't like getting caught.

Guy got back to me quickly, looked at what I had and got back to me that same afternoon with a written description of what we had looked at and his rates. Although it took a couple of days to get his full crew onsite due to the short notice, what his team achieved over the next 15 days was truly impressive. Many of the Guy's crew even work the weekend to hit my deadline. When it comes to coastal exteriors these guys are experts. Here's a quick list of what they accomplished: Installed and trimmed 15 windows; reframed a wrap around deck, build a hot tub pad, built a bench; reproofed a shed; water sealed the chimney; power washed and painted the exterior; seal coated the garage roof; built a small fence; regrade a gravel walkway, stepping stair case and garden area; spread 7yards of gravel and 7 yards of bark; planted 20 1gal plants, and dug a hole for a sewer line clean out. These guys got busy! I was mostly focused on my interior projects and let Guy and his crew run the exterior. He consulted with me on questions, giving valuable suggestions but also listened to how I wanted it done. All of his crew had a great attitude and add a lot value working together as a team.
