I've been to physical therapy before, but ORS in Okemos has been my best experience yet. I needed…read moreto strengthen my my knee and ankle with a low pressure approach and ORS was the perfect place to do this. Every visit I was always greeted warmly and personably by any staff member I came in contact with; I always felt like I was in good hands and that there was a plan to getting me stronger. All around great place!

It was no "accident" that I chose the dedicated pros at ORS to help me rehab from a debilitating…read moreelbow injury. I had already witnessed the expert and loving care provided to my elderly mother at their Holt location, and knew that I would be given the same kind of care at their new Okemos location. I've visited many physical therapists over my 60 accident prone years, and all were competent. But none have left such a deep and lasting impression as the folks at ORS. The compassionate care and concern extended by each and every employee, to each and every patient no matter the size or scope of injury is truly genuine. It's been said that laughter is the best medicine. The ORS staff's ability to take that to heart and make me laugh instead of cry while restoring critical flexion and function to my dominant arm was truly remarkable. I can still hear karaoke Kevin hitting the high notes in my sleep. Kevin, Aaron, Erin, Joann, Tori, and Chrissy....you're absolutely amazing. If only you gave golf lessons....sigh.

As Arlo Guthrie once reported, "Son, have you rehabilitated yourself?" Well, I'm sure the kind…read morefolks here at MSU Rehabilitation could have helped. Still and all, I am not entirely sure what I can do for you, dear reader, by crafting a Yelp! review of this establishment. I was sent here by my physician, after all. I guess I'm pleased enough but my main motivation for writing is the rare opportunity to quote Alice's Restaurant (remember Alice?). If you do drop in, ask them what it takes to be rehabilitated from littering.

This practice has gone down hill since Henry Ford Health took over. Their physical therapist Hannah…read moreKoch refused to perform the standard Epley Maneuver that I have had performed to treat me for vertigo at that location in the past. She performed portions of a vertebrobasilar insufficiency test, which is one screening test that cannot be used to rule in rule out the risk of stroke from lack of blood flow to the brain. I have since been able to have my vertigo confirmed by my otolaryngologist and treated at different physical therapist. The reason I am writing today is that I believe the billing that occurred following Henry Ford MSU Physical Therapy refusal to treat me this time is fraudulent. While on-site I was able to discuss my opinion with lead PT Ryan Whittaker that Henry Ford MSU Physical Therapy should not be billing me for procedures that were not performed. He told me "that's not this it works". As I review both the billing code as submitted to my insurance company, 978162, and the procedures involved with performing a VAI test, I realize Ms Koch did not perform the entirety of the test, merely a portion of it. After Ms Koch informed me that I had failed the test and that their practice would not be performing the Epley Maneuver, she informed me that needed I needed to go get treatment from a different physical therapist (and suggested one in Detroit). She made no mention of contacting my primary care physician to schedule an angiogram, rather she suggested I receive the exact treatment that I came there for elsewhere, as if the risk to my health posed by performing this repositioning treatment would not be a problem if it was performed by another practice. I don't have a problem with Ms Koch's determination that her practice would not be performing the services I came there for. If patients can't count on the advice from their healthcare providers, we are free to go elsewhere. I believe there is a likelihood that this deceptive practice is likely illegal while and this type of unscrupulous billing practice if not limited to this interaction. I've been having luck with UM Sparrow Rehab in Lansing, they actually took the time to listen to me.
