I also noticed inconsistent service--one individual regularly drops off large amounts of film and receives it almost immediately, while others wait an excessive amount of time, even when their orders appear to be ready. That said, the staff members working here are clearly hardworking, and the cashier was kind and respectful. I appreciate the effort of the employees and do not fault them. While this place benefits from its tourist location and social media attention, my personal experience did not reflect the hype. Forgetting the fact that once the chemical process starts it doesn't stop and will continue to get worse. I also had to wait so I got to hear also how he interacted with other customers and safe to say it was not great especially the people in front of me who seems new to photography. Would be far better off just going to B&H if you're new or looking for gear.

This was my first project with DiJiFi, a small test run digitizing (20) 1950's black and white photos and (4) negatives, to see the quality in person that I've only read about until now. I honestly haven't purchased much here over the years aside from a few items, though I definitely bought a PlayStation controller here during COVID. A lot of the appeal for me was simply walking around, learning about new products, and talking with staff who actually know what they're discussing. You really get the sense that the employees are enthusiasts and specialists, not just salespeople. Their pricing also feels very competitive, with an emphasis on staying current and cutting-edge while still maintaining a "money well spent" mentality around sales and service. The atmosphere is calm and professional, and while the store is smaller than B&H or Abt, it's still an excellent size. If you're downtown or near Union Square, it's also much more convenient than heading all the way to the Penn Station area. I confirmed by phone that they offered passport photos for Europe and that no appointment was needed, just walk in during their open hours. I arrived later that day and was impressed at how quickly and professionally they processed my passport photos for Greece. I got 4 for $20 even, and they were cut to the exact size (you have to cut them yourself at CVS and are expensive at $17.99 for the really low quality you are getting), and they provided a mini manila envelope to store them. The little envelope fit perfectly in my wallet. I was really pleased, especially as I had had a prior subpar experience at CVS trying to get these photos. Additionally, Luster provides a plethora of other photo services, so good to keep them in mind for such things.
