Today, I had my first of eight therapy sessions with Kedra Holderman and her herd at Peaceful Hearts Ranch. I wasn't sure what to expect, and I received warm and friendly greetings from both Kedra and her team of horses. I am super excited for what's to come. The entire experience, from the introductory chat with Kedra prior to, the drive there (beautiful), the ranch itself, and my first therapy session make me feel hopeful! We had a wonderful time here for my daughter's second birthday. She loves horses and really enjoyed playing with, walking and brushing them. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Decided to try this place out for a birthday surprise for my daughter. Quarantine has us having cabin fever. Can I say, this was the best idea! We fed the horses and groomed them. Because of the quarantine, it has been such a struggle to get the boys fresh air and getting some energy out. When I found this place, I knew it was going to be great for the boys!! Today, needless to say, will definitely be a day that they never forget. They got to meet horses for the first time (technically they've seen and met horses before but they were way too little to remember). So let's start with My oldest son. My son, who normally is shy and very unsure of himself found confidence today. He had no fear - just fascination, awe, and excitement as he got to feed these magnificent horses and then groom them. He immediately took to them. Now for Youngest son. My son who normally has no fear or real self control actually practiced caution when approaching the horses and making sure that he respected their boundaries. He was nervous but super excited to pet and groom them. Then we were shown a small little oasis on the property that was for sure his favorite part of the day. He saw for the first time a crawfish!! He was so excited for that and he wanted to spend the whole day wading in the creek, lounging on the hammock, and laying on the floating bed. Words cannot describe the peaceful atmosphere of the ranch. It felt as if, at least for that moment, that was where people belonged - completely engulfed in nature. We would have stayed longer if we had brought a lunch and didn't have appointments scheduled for the afternoon. If anyone of my friends live in San Diego, I highly recommend visiting this ranch!! And when you are driving down there, roll down your windows and smell the citrus orchards and wildflowers that fill your view on the drive there. I can for sure say that the boys and I will be visiting again!!! read more

We had such a great experience. We played with the horses, which my 5 year old loved. My 3 year, not so much. Lol We Explored Elfin Forest, which is beautiful. It's a small area to explore, which was perfect for my 5 year old and 3 year old. The creek is clean, small, with no currents. The kids walked through the creek while searching for fairies.‍ We had pictures taken as well by Violet. I was pleased with her interactions and her quick turnaround time to look through the photos. We packed a small lunch and ate at the Elfin Forest. Kedra and Alyssa "Little" were professional, down to earth and made us feel very welcomed and safe. I would recommend this to any family wanting to get away for a few hours. We were there from 7:30 to 10:30 am. I got lost getting there and had no service. So make sure to go old school and hand write your directions if you dont know the area, like me. We will be going back soon. read more

I can't believe that it has taken me so long to write a review. We have visited Peaceful Hearts for Change Ranch three times - twice for horse interaction and the most recent for a date night package. This place is absolutely magical. It's hard to describe the feeling of peace and well-being that comes from just being there. The kids love the horses, and actually get to interact with them closely, which is an amazing experience every child deserves to have. My husband got me the date night package for my birthday, and it was the best birthday ever. We brought the kids along, and they got to play with the horses. Kedra is so amazing with kids and a fantastic host. The photographer (Bryce) was completely unobtrusive, and he got great pictures. It was timed to catch the golden hour lighting. We will cherish those pictures forever. Then, dinner was outstanding. The chef was so sweet and accommodating. My kids loved the mocktails that she created just for them. The food was superb. If you are looking for something romantic, or even fun for the family, I highly recommend a date night. Truly an amazing, one-of-a-kind, five-star experience. read more

We camped here through HipCamp--What a special place! All the kids loved the Elfin Forest treehouse, floating bed, hammock, and stream. The fire circle was perfect, and I appreciated being able to get wood right on site for $5. Sacajawea Circle (which looked like the largest site--some others were much smaller) was perfect for our group, with an easy trail down to restrooms, games, and the fire circle. Plus, we loved waking up to a view of the horses! We'll definitely be back! read more
