Overall not a negative experience but unfortunately I'm not able to say it exceeded expectations or was perfect. TLDR; they won't ask, so make sure you tell them what you want. Starting with the great, the shop is nice and people are friendly. The work area was clean which is a good indicator of the care they'll put into your vehicle. The actual installation work in my car was good quality. Where things fell short is largely with communication. My install included a sub amp and an LC2i. The total cost, including parts as I did not provide any wiring kit, was $420. I believe 3 hours of this was for labor. I was okay with the price as it including all the install hardware and the install itself was done cleanly. However, I never received a quote or an estimate and was just told the total at the end when picking up the car. They finished at the end of their day and sent me on my way without really showing me what was done. Including where things were installed. The second lapse in communication is with the LC2i. When I dropped the car off I listed the components I had for them to install. They never called or asked where to install the LC2i or the amp. In my past experiences these ended up in the trunk so I didn't think I needed to be specific. They ended up putting the amp under the passenger seat, which is okay but not ideal. It's good that I can access the controls to tune the system but when the seat moves forward to let someone or my dog in the back seat, the amp is exposed to being stepped on if someone isn't careful. The LC2i unfortunately was hidden under the dash, like it's a high low converter. Leaving it completely inaccessible and i was unable to use any of the adjustments to tune it, or have easy access to the outputs for future expansion. I was disappointed that these locations were not seemingly thought through with accessibility in mind, and that I was not asked for preference before they decided to hide the lc2i. When I called back and spoke with Guy, he at first offered to move the lc2i for additional labor costs, but after hearing my concerns he graciously offered to schedule another appointment to have them relocate it free of charge. This was very positive and appreciated. I'm not always comfortable having someone "redo" work on a car, and instead offered to buy some additional gear so I could pay them to install those and have them move the lc2i while they were at it. They price matched/beat crutchfield on the items I wanted, which also great. But then the quote to install a jl audio rd400 and upgrade the component speakers in the front doors was $845 (for parts and labor). I had to decline the quote. I will say that while their prices ultimately aren't for my preference, the work was done well and they were reasonable when hearing my concerns. If you go with them, please over communicate instead of simply hoping for the best as I did and you should be left a happy customer. read more

If you are looking to upgrade the sound in your ride look no further than PDA Road Gear. I was expecting to make several upgrades to my brand new Toyota SUV to get the sound I wanted for road trips but after talking with Jared I learned I could probably get everything I wanted by just upgrading the speakers to the BLAM Relax series. Wow! The music library from my phone playing through CarPlay sounds amazing. I contacted Lee approx. one year ago RE: a radio install in my brand new Rubicon Unlimited Hard Rock. I am relatively clueless to a lot of this stuff, and his great communication was amazing, and I ended up getting the best audio system I've ever heard installed. Fast forward to last week. I've been having some issues with the radio hissing when attached to Apple Car Play. I emailed Lee and he got me booked for an appointment to see him. The second I walked in the door he both knew who I was, and he also knew exactly the issue I was having. I was out the door in literally 2 minutes, and when I picked my Jeep back up, guess what? A BRAND NEW updated version of my Kenwood radio had been installed! From my the first email, Jared's professional customer service and willingness to answer my questions before I'd even stepped foot in the store was extremely impressive. I had recently bought a Toyota that had an awful factory system and was desperate to improve the quality of sound. (Let me preface this by saying, I've never upgraded a sound system in any car I've owned but knew this car needed some help.) I had originally gone to Car Toys, but thankfully after many outstanding local recommendations was directed to PDA instead. Jared spent over an hour with me demonstrating the sound of various systems to include speakers, amps, and subwoofers, all while extremely respectful of my price point. He easily could've oversold me knowing this was well out of my comfort zone, but instead he did the opposite to ensure I wasn't putting money into a system that wouldn't be able to return it's full potential due to my request to keep my head unit stock. Clearly, I don't fall anywhere near their typical clientele. I don't have a fancy car nor was I looking for a show stopping system but never once did I feel they treated me any less for this. The speaker upgrade was completed back in August, and even on a brand new vehicle you couldn't tell they had touched it. These guys are awesome! They installed my satellite radio in my mustang convertible, they were a little unsure about antennae placement due to the convertible top. They placed it on my trunk, figuring this would get the best reception possible. I did get great reception, however, the opening and closing of the trunk, over time, caused the antennae wire to break. I called and made an appointment and these wonderful techs relocated my antenna in less than an hour and didn't charge me anything! So professional and helpful! Well was a car toy's customer until we had a problem so wanted to check out other business's my car got totaled so had a chance to look at other products so this review more about items purchased I guess purchased a viper alarm with remote start and added SmartStart app which was $225 more and a BlackVue dash cam. Now ad in store with prices showed viper alarms only, 575 and 675 were the two highest prices they were for 2way alarms and showed color remote so got 675 option figure I'd get better alarm turned out same alarm what ever the price just charge you more. They gave me viper alarm of course with non color remote. Played around with it the alarm remote it's pretty difficult to figure it out and turn things on and off. And then came with regular looking remote as back up. Alarm seemed kinda quite and app wasn't so user friendly compared to drone and compustar seemed like better alarm would show temp inside my car viper app did not.. So going to try and return see how that goes... didn't know dash cam was $350!! Very narrow viewing will definitely return much better options out there for cheaper..will update soon read more

Brought a new car in off the lot for a complete audio upgrade, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Good prices, friendly and knowledgeable staff and techs, and a perfect install make this an easy 5 star review. There isn't a sign that any work was done (beyond a discreet custom subwoofer enclosure in the trunk), the install is flawlessly hidden. Most importantly, the tech understood some peculiarities about my car (a system that pipes fake engine noise into the car's interior), and was able to disable it at my request. In all I had all doors and trunk treated with sound deadening, an OEM integration DSP installed, new front and rear speakers, 5 channel amplifier, and custom fitted 10 inch subwoofer installed, and you'd never know it... until you turn on the radio. I highly recommend PDA. They've earned my next business. I called PDA to see if there were any after market installs which would allow me to use Pandora, and Waze on my factory installed car stereo. He said there really were not any upgrades that I could get to help with that, however I could use a Bluetooth adapter. He spent time on the phone with me and talked me through it and told me where to buy it. His advice did not cost me anything, and he did not make any money from the free advice he gave to me on the phone. I have a Subaru Forester and got an automatic start installed in my car several years ago at PDA, and they were super quick, professional and very friendly. Once I started having trouble with the automatic start after an occurrence at my dealership, PDA was awesome and offered to take a look and fix it. These guys are AMAZING! its hard to find places that do mods for your car. ( being primarily for motorcycles). i gave them a try and they were able to put hush-mat all over my trunk ( my 2 12" subs where making too much vibration) it sounded awful but they were able to do this and i was very satisfied. They also installed a car starter for me, they were done between 3-4 hours. i had a problem with it later down the road and i called them to take a look and they fixed it without a problem. i also asked them to do some mods to my lighting on my car and they are willing to do it ( im sure there aren't many places that would because it is not an easy mod, that and i am supplying the parts) so i am so happy to have found this place and i will continue to go here so long as they continue to accept my odd jobs that they certainly don't have to do.
