My friend ordered a tuna steak and it came with zero sauce, way too rare (ie not even grilled on the top and bottom part, like rare tuna steak should be served) and extremely dry. We complained and they put a bunch of pinzimonio (raw oil, garlic and parsley) on it, which is not at all what tuna steak calls for. I ordered pasta with zucchini flowers and shrimp and it was barely so-so. Despite repeated complaints, they didn't discount one euro from the bill, in fact they argued that "that's how it should be served" (it isn't, ask any Sardinian cook). Truly terrible.

As a doctor, she was showing numerous signs concerning for COVID, and my concerns were shrugged off. She was sneezing and coughing at our table while taking our order, and on our food while serving. We asked the manager for another waiter and she kept on serving us. She forgot 3 of our items ordered as well as two orders for the couple sitting next to us. She also dropped our utensils while bussing the table. Clearly, she had no business being at work and the restaurant was ignorant to keep her there. The 1.5 hours between being served our appetizers and first course did not help either. Overall, we were at this restaurant for 4 hours to eat appetizers! At this point, we asked to not pay for the first course because we had no appetite to eat due to the sneezing and coughing, and this was met with a no. As a Sardinian visiting, I can't say how disappointing it was showing my new wife my hometown. 0/10 - would never recommend

It can be tricky when you are trying to accommodate both vegans and non vegans and ensure a wonderful experience for all and I'm so glad we found Cavó! The service was warm, friendly, and personable. My only regret is that we already have other plans for dinner tonight. Can't wait to go back!

Other patrons are mostly locals, which means the restaurant fills up a little later in the evening (Americans eat so early by comparison!), but the staff were very patient and kind in explaining the menu to a couple of non-Italian-speaking-tourists. Of course, the meals were excellent! Pasta dishes were hot, hearty, full of flavor and energy. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the seafood just barely cooked and tender, and the sauce was one of the best mantecare's of the pan juices, olive oil, and pasta water that I've had in Italy. Great spot to people watch and enjoy the scenery while noshing on delicious pizza. A waiter greeted us, handed us menus, and set down place mats and utensils/napkins. I ordered the vegetarian pizza, while my husband ordered the margherita pizza. The pizzas are personal pies. I stuck to water since it was so hot that day, but my husband ordered a small beer on draft (he gave a nod of approval after the first sip). After you eat, you pay at the register inside. It came out to about 12 euro. Both the waiter and woman at the register were friendly and nice. I would definitely come back here next time I'm in Cagliari. I'd either try one of the many different pizzas on the menu or another entrée, or see what eating indoors is like and also order drinks. Very cute eatery!
