I was looking for some payroll alternatives to Quickbooks Payroll since the subscription Payroll for Quickbooks at work was getting a bit too much on a yearly basis when I knew that there were other software companies out there that are cheaper alternatives that do the same thing. I talked to Patrick who informed me of the Pros: he service can work with QB desktop. Finalized payruns can be exported to QuickBooks desktop as journal entries (via an IIF file import). A one-time mapping of your chart of accounts to QuickBooks is required - here's how to do that: QuickBooks (desktop) integration. 3) The service replaces the need for the payroll component of QuickBooks. Direct deposit is fully integrated in our service and is only 50¢ per transaction. 4) There is a one time setup fee of $55 for electronic payments Cons: 2) They currently do not support Quickbook On-line but are planning to provide support when Intuit updates their API to support this type of integration. My issue is that there are more kinks than smooth transitions. I was also not impressed that there is a 5 day delay time for sending direct deposit funds. I am also not to thrilled that the money is kept in a third party bank and then forwarded funds to the employees (similar to a top off). read more
