Paychex is the worst. Their new "call center" I believe is outsourced to another country. They don't process payroll timely anymore and then charge you for late processing. And their retirement services is horrible. I can't get a reply from any email sent . It's like a black whole. I have been with them for over 20 years and the services just keeps getting worse every year. And then they have the nerve to continually call me to add additional services. I am finally at the point that it may be worth the hassle to switch payroll companies. read more

The WORST! Stay away. Paychex has been doing our payroll for the past 3-1/2 years and it has been a nightmare. I wish I had switched to another company, but always felt that it would be too much trouble. So I just kept digging myself into a deeper and deeper hole with Paychex. They make so many errors that if you don't stay on YOUR toes, you won't find out until it is too late. We had a multi-state payroll, and state withholding taxes and UI taxes were often pain incorrectly (over or under), or paid late. We received several delinquent payment notices from states that we had to hound Paychex to resolve. When they make a mistake, they will ask you to prove that it was their error. (Luckily I keep very good records, and saved every e-mail and letter.) If you make a mistake, you're gonna pay, and pay big! $1,000 to correct a wrong SSN. Slow to respond to e-mails, hard to get your rep on the phone, voice mails frequently not returned until multiple calls. Just plain poor customer service. Good luck. Look elsewhere. read more
