I had boarded my 2 huskies a few times and they had both came back very distant And she will not eat and talk. She is very vocal and there is something wrong with her because she's not being herself. When I dropped both of my huskies off, I took their food and I gave them instructions. How to feed them and they did not do it right? My dog loves going to work as soon as Im for work/dressed he is at the door can't wait to go to Paws and Klaws. Remiis is high energy. i ask them to wear him out! Remi has made friends there see at the pet park on the weekends. They all say, our dogs come home tired of playing.Rim runs almost all day. They taught him to fetch, and tug a war. DONT USE THEM...On too many occasions our dog does not come back home his normal self. He's lethtragic, distant, dont eat or play for at least 3 days. He just lays in his bed sleeping. I have told my husband not to take him there anymore. has anyone noticed this? we pay a very high fee for him to have a "suite" so he can have the most comfort away from home. We also used them to support local businesses. But NO MORE!! Don't take your pet here. Something don't add up. I would swear they are sedating him cause that's his behavior. Staff and owner showed my dog no comfort on his first day, he was nervous, they basically where going to drag him to the back for day care. The payment policy was not explained in the paperwork as it should have been, so with no cash or checks to pay for 1 day (12 dollars) they where not going to release my dog to me, thankfully he had not seen me yet so i went to ATM. They nearly lost his ball, that they said to bring in a bag ( I did that) then got him home, and he acted like he did not have water all afternoon. Now, 3 days later, realize he may have contracted kennel cough there. When I called to inform the owner, she was short and rude. Horrible way to do business and treat my pet. read more

I took my dog for a trim and he was fully shaved. I specifically asked for a trim. This is the second time it has happened.

My little boy Jackson who is a large Yorkie goes here, and he has a nice young lady named Jessie. She is always so cheerful and Jackson always comes out looking so nice. Dropped my dog off at noon. 3lb terrier. They said 3-4 hours, and while I thought that was a little long I agreed to it. At 4:30pm (4 1/2 hours later) they said she still wasnt ready, and it would be 6:00pm before they were done. Completely unacceptable, and for the price not at all good grooming. We have taken our shi-tzu here four times now. The first two times he looked amazing! The third he was a bit choppy, but I chalked it up to the possibility of matting, which is common with his breed (if you do not brush frequently and seeing as how we live in the country and he thinks he is a hound dog, keeping up is next to impossible). The third time I took him in and he was shaking, a nervous wreck. He is 2 1/2 years old. We've been grooming for years and with the previous groomer, Nancy, he loved going to her home and playing with her dogs. He would jump right out of the car and trot to her door..knowing what to expect. I have NEVER seen him like this. The groomer (whose name I am unsure of) came to meet us, she said she may have to go shorter on his cut because he seemed to be slightly matted. I told her that was acceptable and I understood. When I got him back, 5 hours later, he was unrecognizable. I thought he must have been in horrible shape, the groomer did not come out to discuss the length of whether I was happy with the cut. I got home and looked back to see how long it had been since his last visit. 10 weeks. We usually do 8. I think noticed a red spot on his eye that seemed to get worse. I wasn't sure if it was from the blades being too hot and close to the skin..now four days later his eye is scabbed. I have yet to call and tell the company as I am FURIOUS. This is totally unacceptable and if she had knicked him, telling me, the client would have kept my business. We will NEVER be back (to breed or board, which we also do) and we will NEVER recommend this place to family or friends!!! read more

This past November, my husband and I went on a cruise and had to find our Sammy a vacation spot that he could go to while his mommy and daddy went on theirs. Well, last year, we went to Florida. At that time we had scheduled both of our dogs to stay at the hospital kennel service, since one of our dogs was old, and we figured "just in case" since they at the animal hospital knew her and her condition, she would be safe. Well, we came back on Friday, and found the older dog unable to walk. The doctor and my husband had to help walk her out because she couldn't even stand. By Saturday morning we knew she had no quality of life left in her, not being able to walk so we called the hospital back and our girl was euthinised that morning. We couldn't really understand how this happened so fast. Yes, she was old (almost 12), and yes she had a hard time getting up at times, but with help once she got to her feet she was able to walk. All this the hospital knew ahead of time because one we told them and two she had been going there since she was a puppy. So after calming ourselves down for a couple of weeks, anger set in. I had to find out why it all happened so fast. If it was she time fine, but I still needed answers. Well, I got them and was upset. Turns out the hosiptal basically opened the run gate and if the dogs go out fine, if not, that's ok they would just hose the inside part to make it clean. Yes they gave food and water. But like I said before "she sometimes needs help getting up". Apparently, this information fell on deaf ears. If she didn't get up, they just left her. So for a week, my dog either struggled by herself, or she just layed there, with no help. Now she was a very gentle dog, never ever aggressive and they knew that, but I was told, she didn't want to go out. Bull! she needed help, and no one seemed to care or had little time to help her. My heart breaks everytime of think of her with her sad eyes asking for help and not getting any help. So this year I was not about to take any chances with our Sammy. Now Sammy is a whole new story. He is aggressive! He's little with an attitude, so I have to tell whoever his problems of being shy, aggressive, comes to you, don't go to him, etc. All the warnings I could think of. I explained to Paws and Claws what happened last year to our other dog and explained about Sammy. THey told me not to worry, that they would handle it, and let Sammy tell them what he wanted and who he wanted. The entire cruise my husband and I hoped for the best. When we came back, Sammy and everyone involved with him was fine! We couldn't be happier with the service Paws and Claws provided for Sammy and they even went out of their way to drop Sammy off at our house an hour before we came home, because of our flight landed just before they closed and we would have never made it there in time to pick him up. Will Sammy be going back to Paws and Claws? Oh yea. That will now be his second home when we travel. I recommend Paws and Claws 110%. Friendly staff, they listen to the dogs, the dogs are happy, in other word Paws and Claws absolutely "cares" for our babies! So good to know that while away, your pet is happy and being cared for by people who love them as much as you love them. Feel good that your babies are fine and probably, after missing you for a few days, will adjust to their enviroment. If Sammy can, any pet can.
