I have tried lots of local groomers and Tails and Nails are by far the best for the following reasons: quality of cut and care is very high, professionalism both online making appointments and in person, price (!!), she listens to what you want and executes it perfectly, clearly loves animals, price (!!), she doesn't make you feel bad about mats or dirty ears, etc. and overall friendliness. I have a golden doodle and she requires significant grooming and I like her hair longer. Timolyn does SUCH an amazing job with her - bath, hair cut, nails and ears all for 50$ (I always tip - she's worth it!) Definitely recommend making the drive out to give her a try. Book in advance though - she's got a following :)

The staff at Pinebrook took care of her needs, made sure she was fed and comfortable. They didn't just take her lead and run away at drop off. They stayed with us for about 10-15 minutes, getting to know more about Ellie so they could ensure a successful stay. One of the things I like about Pinebrook is there commitment to one on one play time with your pet. Traditional kennels put your dog in a setting with about 40 other dogs and depending on how your dog reacts, they might be absolutely terrified. At PineBrook, they take your dog alone and give them devoted playtime. The fact alone that Ellie was able to romp around in a clean fenced in area with the freedom to sniff and not be anxious is worth the 5 stars alone. Mind you, the dogs get central air in the summer. This came in handy last week when the air temp was in the upper 90s. Suffice it to say, I would not hesitate to recommend PineBrook.

I understand an in person consult requiring some cost but 65 dollars for 30 minutes all online was not worth it. Unfortunately I had to request a refund and am looking for other trainers in the area that might be a better fit.

And speaking of classes, we went through the family dog class, taught by Maria, with our daughter's rescue Rottweiler. But then you stop, take a peek inside, and realize it is absolutely lovely. When you enter, you're greeted by cute, locally made merchandise and the lovely, kind women behind the front desk. These ladies are truly special, not only are they friendly, but they also put their heart and soul into supporting the community and local cats (not to mention the cats from outside Vermont!). They are exceptionally knowledgeable about the kitties in their safe haven and truly care for each one. They provide every visitor with an in-depth guide to all the cats in their care, as well as a tour of the space. There are plenty of toys and cozy sitting spots for a relaxing visit and if you're one of the lucky ones, you'll even get pounced on by kittens wanting a taste of Churu! The lounge offers tables for work or quiet activities, a guitar available for visitors, a camera for photos, educational books on cat care, and extra treats for the cats. Also offered separately from their regular Cat Lounge experience, they have a few events like Yoga, DND and Painting with Cats (Not Literally). Of course, these lovely kittens are available for adoption, and like any good shelter, there is a thoughtful process in place because every cat deserves a safe, healthy fur-ever home! Truly a hidden gem that is worth every penny.

Please, for the safety of your beloved pet, do NOT bring it to the Grooming Gallery! My family…read morefriend brought their beloved senior poodle to her on 11/7/14. When he came to pick him up, Gail the owner and groomer told him that he needed to come in and get him out of the cage himself because he had a seizure and had been traumatized. The dog has NO history of seizures in his entire life. She said that she could not even complete his haircut (although they were asked to pay for the entire service). When asked if he should be seen by the vet she told them "NO, all the vet will do is charge you a lot of money!" When they got him home they noticed that his neck was very swollen, and he was acting very nervous and strange. When they tried to get near him he would yelp in pain. He certainly did NOT have this injury prior to taking him the the Grooming Gallery or they would have waited to have him groomed. They did call the vet and were asked to bring him in immediately. He received treatment for his swollen and bruised neck and given some pain medicine. The visit cost over $200. After returning home they called back to the Grooming Gallery asking for more details as to what had happened to their dog during his visit. Gail, the owner, insisted that he was an "old dog" and "things happen". She volunteered that he had been "traumatized" but would not elaborate. She DID NOT: apologize, offer to pay for even a portion of the vet bill, or even call to follow up over the weekend to see how the dog was doing. She DID however: act angry, annoyed, rude and inconvenienced that they would even ask what happened to the pet at her shop. When I went to her shop the following week to speak with her face to face, she flew into an actual "rage" within just a few minutes of my being there. As a working professional and former groomer I have never seen anything like it. PLEASE there are other shops, with caring people that would never mistreat your beloved pet. They will now be taking their poodle to Doggie Styles, just up the street.PLEASE DO NOT take your pet to the GROOMING GALLERY.
