This is a great little church in the High Desert!…read more It is a satellite location, of the much larger church High Desert Victorville. Although it is held in a school gymnasium, I would much prefer this church to some of the larger churches in Victorville. The people here are warm and friendly--they are welcoming. My daughter enjoys the youth segment and has met new people. The youth church allows children an interactive opportunity to learn about the Word of God and to fellowship. My biggest quip about this church is the music is TOO LOUD. It is hard for me to feel genuine praise and worship to the Lord when the music is blaring and it feels like more of a rock performance. There have been a few songs that I have belted out with the rest of the congregation but it seems they are all like that. Unfortunately--and in my opinion, there is not a diverse range of slow, silent melodies versus powerful guitar/drum combo. It is too overpowering. I give this church 5-stars because of the warm people and because of the Bible reading church that it is. Pastor Brian is a great storyteller and really relates to the audience. It reminds me of how Jesus would often speak to people in a way that they could relate to. It is important for me to hear the Word of God directly from the Bible. Not from an opinion or a thought. Fortunately, that is exactly what High Desert Phelan offers and that is why I feel comfortable bringing my family here. I recommend anyone wanting to be around like-minded believers and who want to get into the Word of God to pay this church a visit. As I said, it is a satellite campus and most Sundays we watch via projector as a pastor from the Victorville service delivers a message. But I most enjoy the Sundays when we hear from Pastor Brian as he is a genuine person with a heart for God.
