I looked at reviews and location to find one that had later hours. I was able to get an appointment that I didn't have to miss work and made the appointment. They sent me the paperwork to fill out online so when I got there all I had to do was check in and give them my driver's license to copy. I was quickly taken back to the room. Very thorough check with a couple of ways of X Rays, 3D scan of my teeth, and measure of the gums for the pockets. Everything was quickly on the screen for me to see. They were also thoroughly explained. Since I hadn't had a cleaning in almost 4 years, they used 2 methods to get the teeth clean. The dental assistant was very professional and kind. The dentist showed me the things I needed to know and what was needed to do now and what just need to be watched. I need to have 2 fillings replaced since part of them is missing. I am happy to find a local dentist since I used the same one in Monroe for over 15 years and even drove there after I moved from there 7 years ago.

Dr. Mulka invests in the latest technology and she and her friendly staff know how to use the equipment. Further, this as close as painless dentistry as humanly possible. As I periodically require expensive crown replacements, Dr. Mulka's office staff has assisted me to minimize my co-pays. There is never a billing issue like I often experience at other doctors' offices. If you are serious about the health of your teeth and gums I recommend this dental practice. Kevin ONeill

Please forgive the length, it's a thorough review based on my experience: About 2-3 years ago I…read morestarted seeing Dr. Mulka. Another dentist was highly recommended and well reviewed, however was not accepting new patients at the time. Dr. Mulka was my second pick. The initial visit went great! The staff and dentist were all very accommodating. However, I was extremely surprised to learn after my exam that I would need several fillings. (Some of which may have been to replace older fillings, but I'm not sure.) I was offered a nice discount (noted in my file) for teeth whitening to be done after I finished the extensive "treatment plan". During one of the treatment appointments, there was work being done and I was not numb enough. I notified Dr. Mulka while working that I could feel what she was doing on a particular tooth and that it was painful. She continued, claiming to be nearly finished. To date, I've had two substantial problems with two fillings done by Dr. Mulka. Problems I didn't even have with the previous dentist by whom I'd had a rough experience. The first incident occurred under Dr. Mulka's care. A filling she did went bad, and I needed a root canal. She actually wanted to do a root canal on this tooth and the adjacent tooth. However her schedule was full, so I referred me to a specialist. The specialist confirmed only one tooth needed the work, and completed one of the most pleasant oral procedures I've ever experienced. I returned for the crown which needed to be split into two appointments. The placement of the temporary crown was down by a hygienist, who seemed inexperienced and left adhesive residue all on my lips and surrounding my mouth. I mentioned to the dentist that being fitted for the crown was more traumatic than the actual root canal. She responded: "well that's all they do so they're really good." It implied that I shouldn't expect a great experience since they don't fit crowns every day - even though the root canal is the worser of the two experiences. After this response and being laid off, I was not able to return for the permanent crown because I could not afford it. However, I started receiving calls from the office staff to get the crown in - not for the health of my tooth or mouth, but because they could not get paid by my insurance company until they finished the installation. The installation was another unpleasant experience scheduled only because the staff offered to give me time to pay. The bite was not right, which I noted. However, I was told that the crown would "settle and adjust". It was almost a year before I was able to chew without pain, waiting on it to settle and adjust. It didn't. However, my new dentist (the 1st pick, who started accepting me patients again) adjusted the crown and my bite in all of 3 minutes of filling. It happened during an emergency appointment (before my first official new patient cleaning and exam) after horrible  pain landed me in the EMERGENCY ROOM on a Saturday evening. Severe tooth pain, I thought it was the root canal & crown gone bad. New Dentist saw a cavity under a filling when x-raying previous root canal & crown. Thought it'd be a quick fix. It was the tooth that wasn't numbed all the way when Dr. Mulka did its filling. Now this is the SECOND filling she's done to have gone bad. This time much worse! Soon as the New Dentist tapped the filling, it shattered. Nothing but decay underneath. It was severely infected - to the pulp. The New Dentist basically started the root canal right there in the chair before sending me to the specialist. Even before the root canal, and after the infection (& pain) cleared, I was able to eat without pain from chewing on the previous crown! Dr. Mulka has a ton of great reviews. She's friendly and so is her staff. However, I caution you to get a second opinion if an extensive treatment plan is recommended. It may not all be necessary, may not properly done if it's something they don't do frequently, may just be a procedure easily billed and processed with your dental insurance company, carefully scheduling based on your policy maximum. Give thought to whether you want a dentist that does a lot of promotion versus on that is promoted by word of mouth! (pun intended)

I couldn't be more pleased. I think I've been in there 5 times this year, getting work done I put off for years. Two of those times were cleanings... something I previously dreaded but now was so comfortable and happy with the process I actually went back after 6 months (like they recommend - go figure)! No bleeding gums. No pain. These are nice, highly competent people that you actually like to see - in addition to doing a terrific job. They really go out of their way to explain and put context around everything they're doing while you're there, and also the options because you always have choices about what you have done & when. SO refreshing. In addition to the great dentistry the office is run very well. They have the latest technology so they can show you everything that is going on. They're great with insurance and the appointment process is smooth with text reminders and confirmations. Highly recommend - 6 stars out of 5!
