Your local library isn't what it used to be: the sole bastion of all knowledge waiting to be…read moreuncovered in the Periodicals section, with a Dewey card-catalog search. West Cobb Regional blends technology and neighborhood for a full-service quality convenient library trip. Sure you can stay for a few hours doing that same research on a public computer terminal now, but you're also linked into the larger Cobb Library system to bring it all to your local branch. Grab a new bestseller on hold and it'll magically arrive in a few days. Browse digital reading, audio, videos to have them delivered to your device. The Cobbcat and Overdrive connections make it convenient to pick up that that hard-copy or instant digital download. And while all this futuristic stuff is nice, you'll still be able to stop in and ask a question of the real librarian staff in person. Plenty of real-live printed stuff still exists here (even Periodicals). While you're there, check out the children's programs onsite and virtually. Spaces allow for community events like tax prep and other civic causes throughout the year as well. Flexible hours make it easy to visit around work and school. Let your kids pick a random book from the large selection, or get specific with the online catalog terminals. Once you have everything selected, self-checkout will speed you on your way, or go old-school and take it to the counter. An actual person will be there to sign up your next child with their own library card, or help you find that one more research nugget you need. I'll be in later to grab my hold-copy of that latest best-seller thriller beach read.

As a Villa Rica Public Library patron and community partner, I can't overstate my satisfaction with…read moreVR Library. The Manager, Dr. Rachel Linn, and the entire staff are so warm, welcoming and accommodating. They have generously supported my modular Black History exhibit, "The Carver High Experience," every February for the past 7 or so years. The space that is provided allows me to present my visitors a true "Museum Without Walls" experience. In recent years, we've had more than ten large (30-60) student groups from Carrollton City and other school districts, visit it. As well as a number of senior and church groups. I provide a walking and talking tour of the exhibit along with a personal narrative about My Carver High Experience and my childhood growing up in Carroll County when this area was populated by only a few thousand people and most of them were farmers. The number of general public visitors continues to grow. Back in 2005, our original goal was to create a brick and mortar museum. When that plan fell through, I had an epiphany to create a modular traveling exhibit. The rest is history. VRPL has become a vital component of my answered prayer: to research, preserve and share the history of African Americans in Carroll County with current and future generations. When we started this quest in 2004, hardly anyone remembered or knew much about Carver High. Most in the younger generations had not heard of it - including many African Americans! By now , I believe MOST residents know something about Carver High. In closing, our Visitors' Log keeps track of individual visitors (not including the students). The visitors count continues to hover around 300-400 indIvidual visitors. I know for a fact that some visitors don't sign the log. So there's another hundred or so visitors to add to the visitors' count. I am thrilled that approximately 1000 visitors now come to see "The Carver High Experience" each year at the VR Library... I believe their warm and welcoming atmosphere has a lot to do with it! We started out including a Tour of the Library to manage the oversized groups. I'm sure many of those young people have become patrons themselves. VRPL has so many youth-oriented activities and feature, such as gaming tournament, a teen center, study rooms, a separate children's library, etc. It is also the meeting place for adult clubs and community organization. It is a safe, well/maintained, well/supervised welcoming space for children and adults...with lots of books. Carolyn Gray Creator & Curator The Carver High Experience Traveling Exhibit.

Best Library in Cobb County, HANDS DOWN!…read more Over the last 6 months I've been spending time at various libraries throughout the city and surrounding areas, and I tell you nothing compares to The North Regional Library in Kennesaw, GA - Cobb County. I've been doing some market research on how to start a business and the library is a one stop shop for all of my needs. The building is bright, airy, and spotless--with large windows that let in lots of natural light and plenty of comfy seating around . There's a great children's section with learning toys, a clean and welcoming teen/young adult room, plus a dedicated makerspace and a fully stocked computer training lab. I even brought my daughter and granddaughter here and they actually learned a lot and had fun. Plenty of study rooms--perfect for group work or meeting quietly--are available, and the outdoor plaza is a great spot for programs or just chilling with a book. Free Wi‑Fi, public computers, printing, scanning, and copier services make it super convenient whether you're a student, a freelancer, or just wanting to browse. What really stands out is the staff--they're welcoming, knowledgeable, and always ready to help. Shot out to Sarah, Alice, Alecia and the entire team over there. Whether you need tech assistance, program info, or a book recommendation, someone's there to answer your questions. I didn't feel intimidated at all when asking questions. All in all, whether you're bringing the kids, getting work done, getting away from the kids, or diving into a new hobby, North Cobb Regional Library offers everything--and the vibe's just right. Highly recommend stopping by!

Tons of parking outside. They also have a beautiful garden outside! I loved walking through it and seeing what they were growing (blueberries, sunflowers, jalapeños). They have tons of events going on here including a play cafe for toddlers on Tuesdays, Wednesday's and Thursday. We just moved to Georgia and couldn't wait to locate the closest library and sign up for library cards. The librarian who assisted us was wonderful! So so sweet and helpful. She even helped us get registered to vote. She explained all that we could do at the library and how many books (50) we could check out at a time. The kid's area of the library had a huge selection of fun books to choose from and also had an area of toys for my daughter to play with. I loved that they had a "chill out" room where you could nurse your baby, change a diaper, or have some quiet time if needed. Very cool. It's directly located across from North Cobb High School so I can imagine it might get busy during the school year once school lets out. 10/10 recommend this beautiful library.
