After World War I, over 70,000 combat veterans moved to Mexico City to start a new life and escape the pains of war. Seventeen of these veterans decided to form the American Legion in Mexico City, as shown in the enclosed photo. Eventually, they settled on a building which used to be a brothel. Visit the second floor and terrace to see the rooms frequented by the Johns. It is not clear what connection these veterans had to the brothel, which was nicknamed "Lover's Roost."

Woko Taberna - Chilaquiles Worth Coming Back For!…read more I stumbled upon Woko Taberna while exploring Mexico City, and I have to say--it quickly became one of my favorite spots. I ended up coming back twice just for their chilaquiles, and honestly, I'd go back again in a heartbeat. The chilaquiles are next-level delicious. The chips are perfectly crispy, even under the rich, flavorful salsa (I tried both red and divorciados (green/red) can't pick a favorite because both were amazing). Topped with crema, cheese, and a perfectly cooked egg, they hit the spot every single time.
