Excellent food for a restaurant in a mall.
After shopping for gifts at the mall in Val d'Europe we decided to stop for lunch. After pursing the menus of a few sit down restaurants we decided on Paul's. Our waiter spoke broken English but readily got another wait staff to answer a question that he did not understand.
My husband had a potato pancake with smoked salmon and creme fraiche served with roasted potatoes and a salad. The potato pancake was excellently prepared and seasoned nicely to pair with the smoked salmon. The salad was not dressed at all and the roasted potatoes were potato overkill on a plate with a potato pancake. A different side was definitely in order.Our son ordered a
My quiche Lorraine was to die for. The phyllo crust was light and air unlike the pie crusts we get in the states. The filling was creamy with just the right amount of ham and cheese.
Our son ordered a bacon cheese burger. This is the only time we have been asked how we want our beef cooked. It was a perfect medium, served on a seeded homemade roll with ketchup, mayo, sauteed onions, cornichorns, tomato and lettuce. For a boy who does not usually like seeded rolls or tomatoes, he devoured the entire thing telling us that it is the first time he ever had a tomato be liked.
We shared a chocolate brioche flan for dessert. It was a bit heavy for me but my husband loved the thick slice-able texture served with vanilla glacee. read more
