I went to the Paul Mitchell school in Greenwood, IN and had a great experience with Jenna. I came in with thin damaged hair and Jenna did a great job! I received a deep condition and hair cut and style and I felt like a million bucks when I left! I know Jenna is graduating in August 2023 and wherever she goes, I will follow! I'm so happy I took a chance on the Paul Mitchell school, so worth it!

One of many pictures of cut and color and style!! Not even close

Will NOT be going back or recommend. What was supposed to be a highlight on a short hair (see pictures) ended up being a 5 & 1/2 hour ordeal. The color is horrible! The color is all over does not look like a highlight. Why use the foil??? There were ONLY 2 learning leaders on staff for over 60 people through the door Saturday, they were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Foil was being removed and hair wiped to discontinue processing while there was still foil going in my hair. Took OVER 3 hours to put the foil in my hair. The young lady working on my hair was young! I do not fault her but the lack of supervision and amount of people that came and went for services. I would have thought that by sitting in ONE spot for 3 hours as both learning leaders walked by me and smiled they would have thought something was wrong.....NOPE!!!! I even addressed one to engage but that did not even seem to help. I showed several pictures of the color I wanted and now need to deal with YELLOW/ORANGEISH hair!!! Was looked down when I asked for toner since my hair was WHITE, If I wanted white hair I would have left my gray continue to grow. You can see from the pictures that my hair turned out NOTHING like one of MANY pictures I showed on MULTIPLE occasions to the student and both learning leaders I would have gotten better color out of a store bought box and highlighted my hair myself. Was told one price and charged another. Could not use the Groupon (that will go unused $19.50) that I had even when I told the girl on the phone when I made the apt. With tip, gas and cost of service, Groupon I am $100 in, for another $20 I could have gone to a salon. I would expect to get a refund but I seriously doubt this will happen. I am now going to have to spend a min of $120 to get this fixed with low lights and another highlight to get rid of the brassy color and yellow color to yet again fry my hair. Didn't even get a blow dry walked out with a wet head. Super unhappy. If I could give a negative star I would review Unless you know someone and trust them DO NOT go!!! I get these are students who are learning. BUT there should have been MORE "Learning Leaders" on the floor for a Saturday with the amount of people and students. I have had good luck in the past at the Aveda school but thought I would give this school a chance NEVER again!!!! I will not go into the cut..... that the "learning leader" assisted with.

Highly Recommended, let me tell you guys. I was so afraid to get my hair to be braided but when I was welcomed by Paul Mitchell's Hairstylist they made me feel at home. I leave looking better then I came every-time I come here, and they have great prices

    Hair 2 days after perm.

got a perm last week with a student, she did amazing, but the perm fell out and then the layer that was cut by the teacher looks horrendous. im not mad at the student she did amazing and her customer service was great! I'm extremely upset that they 'don't refund' yet I never signed or got notified that they didn't do refunds beforehand. I spent $80 for the TEACHER to screw my hair up. Thank you Paul Mitchell, I won't be coming back anytime soon.

I came here as I was traveling through Indiana for work hoping for a perm. The students were kind and encouraging but when it came to the service itself my hair is fried beyond repair. The student was reading the box and had told me how she had never done a perm like mine before. After spending four hours at the school I had to wash my hair as soon as I got home to try and see what could be saved of my damaged hair. My blonde hair that went well below my should is now a brown bob due to trying to hide the damage done. After calling to request a refund for my perm I was told there was nothing that could be done. I am extremely disappointed in the standards of this institution.

What it was supposed to look like

Where do I even begin... I came here because I was going to box dye my hair & figured - students would probably be better than box dye, right? WRONG. Well I'm sure some people have good experiences here but i did NOT. I went in for an all over color. I was anxious to begin with, as I have only colored my hair TWICE in my entire life. Apprehensive, I ask before I even sit in the chair, "I box dyed my hair back in December, that won't be a problem will it? Theres nothing special I have to do, right?" The woman doing my hair assured me, "it's been way long enough that you don't even have to worry about that". So then I let her dye my hair. The dying process itself took about 2 hours so I figured she had gotten great coverage, however when I left, I noticed my roots were BRIGHT red and the bottom was still brown with a tiny tiny hint of red. Long story short, the color was NOT what I wanted and the coverage is not good at all. So I schedule a consult because this place advertises that if you're not satisfied, they will have a teacher redo your hair. Well, consult day comes and the woman I spoke to was extremely rude, starting out the conversation by saying, "are you aware that your hair is extremely fried and you'll need to take a couple inches off, just saying." I was insulted but just thought maybe she didn't mean to come across that way. Then when I told her the situation, she blamed the uneven color on my box dying job done over half a year ago. I give her the benefit of the doubt and say, "okay so what do I need to do to correct it?" Her suggestion? she said that they would only correct it if I paid $20 more to get a 5 inch trim and a deep condition (the current sale they're running in August). The funny thing is that the woman and teacher that were dying my hair the day before told me that my hair was very healthy! Long story short, they wouldn't correct my hair unless I spent $20 more on services I don't even need, without the guarantee that recoloring my hair would even work. I wouldn't even bother with this place, save your $60 because you'll have better luck with an $8 box dye.

I love this place! The students rotate (since it's a school), but you can request people or try someone new each time. They are supervised (if you're nervous) and I always end up with a color I love. Now I have it down to one I love, so they keep it on file for me. Appointments are only 9/9:15/9:30 AM or around 1:00 PM. They have morning and afternoon sessions. The products are great and the Wash Room is so relaxing. I've been coming here for years and will continue the trend! Basic color is $30, which is very affordable.

I am reviewing this business as a client/customer (not a student):…read more I was skeptical about trying out this school based on the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had a wonderful experience and I was satisfied with my hair cut. I called and scheduled an adult haircut and style for a weekday evening. I was told the students arrive at 5:45p, so my appointment was scheduled for 6pm. I wasn't sure how the appointments worked, thinking maybe they were first come first serve, with all clients arriving at 6p, so I showed up at 5:45p to be the first arrival (which I was). Upon checking in and filling out a form, I sat and waited for my student to come out and get me, which was about 6:10pm. I was told that the student they had originally scheduled me with didn't show up, so they had to re-assign me. She showed me over to the chair, asked me a few basic hair questions and then took me to the wash station. My hair was shampooed twice and conditioned once. I was at the wash station for probably 15min getting a thorough wash. I learned from my student (Liza) that she is half way through the program with over 700hrs completed. This being my first time, I assumed I would be getting a student near graduation. Therefore, Liza was still taking a lot of instruction from Miss Penny, her instructor. The overall time I was there was 1.5hrs. This was for a wash, 2 inch hair cut with layers, and a style. I believe there were 4 children and 4 adult clients while I was there. There were two instructors helping those 8 students. Miss Penny did a great job instructing Liza on my hair. Correcting her when needed and praising her when she did well. Miss Penny would usually make one or two cuts to instruct Liza, watch as she did a few cuts herself, then Miss Penny would go on to help another student and return to check progress and answer questions Liza may have. Once Liza started styling my hair, I was able to get more information about how the school is run. She informed me that there are daytime students and evening students. Daytime students work 8hrs shifts M-F and these students are mostly straight out of high school (younger). The evening students work 4hr shifts M-Th evenings and Sat mornings. They are usually more mature age and work FT jobs elsewhere during the day. If they are not assigned a client during their shift, then they receive their hours by working on mannequin heads. I was very nervous about going into a beauty school and having a student work on my hair, but the overall experience turned out just fine and I am satisfied with my hair cut. I will be returning. Their pricing on services and products are well below anywhere else. A bottle of Matrix shampoo was $12, and my wash, cut and style was $12. Tipping the students is not mandatory, but if done, it must be in cash. Saturdays are walk-ins only, but once each student has a client, walk ins are cut off, so get there when they open at 9am! Most students only get one client for the day. I would recommend going in the evening hours, as it is less busy, less chaotic, and has more mature students.
