We remain very enthusiastic about your tandem and recently completed a challenging ride with our tandem from Flims up to Bargis (1600 m above sea level) with gradients of up to 12%. However, the originally installed Ansmann front motor proved to be rather unreliable, as it regularly switched off after about half a minute of riding on a 10% incline. We have now replaced it with a Xigonda Dualspeed front motor, which delivers 500 W even at lower speeds (around 10 km/h) and has proven to be highly efficient and reliable. In addition, we were able to integrate a Flyer Tandem SH freewheel, which works perfectly and is fully compatible with your frame. With this new setup, we are now ready for our upcoming island-hopping tour in Greece this spring. In retrospect, we would have appreciated a bit more goodwill and support from your side during the motor replacement process. Unfortunately, we lost around €3,000 on the original Ansmann motor, which turned out to be a poor investment. We kindly ask you to take this experience into account for future production. The Xigonda Dualspeed 48 V front motor has proven to be an excellent and powerful solution and, in our opinion, would be ideal for future tandem models.
