You will be at the mercy of your phone or email all day with nothing but frustration with the lack of progress and zero communication. How can a restoration company continue to operate with no communication skills to both their potential client and insurance company? What is the hold up? Why is there no information regarding updates? Go anywhere else but DKI for your insurance claims!!! If you want an incredibly stressful experience from start to finish, go with DKI Burlington. There was mold growing before they even started ripping things up. It's been about 4 weeks after they tore things out and nothing further has been done, no one has been back. My landlord and myself have tried to communicate with no response back. His insurance company is waiting on them, with no response back. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced. It's a basement apartment and people are put out by this it would be nice to have some answers and clear communication. I myself work in insurance and know people in claims for my company who have already advised coworkers to not recommend DKI Burlington for insurance claims. They clearly do not know how to handle themselves. Laura is who we have tried to deal with and who originally got sent out. She's a project manager... but her manager skills are lacking.

My basement have damage due to sewer back up, contacted silver lining to have a…read morelook and Radu came to my house on the last week of November, I showed him a quote from the insurance contractor and email from the adjuster with the Amount approved for the repair. After looking around and checking the quote radu did a sales pitch on how he can do the job better then explained to me what is needed to be done and how is he going to do it he also assured me that the work will be done in a timely manner and if there is additional charge that needs to be added he will take care of it and contact the Insurance himself and he want to start the repairs asap. I told him that as long as it will fit within the approved budget from the insurance then it is OK with me and that he should make sure of that before he start the repairs and also told him that i am not paying for anything else aside from the deductible or I would just hire the other contractor and he gave his assurance that it will fit the budget and he'll deal with the insurance if there is extra cost before he start the repairs . I was very particular about the floor being cold and ask him about it, he said he will put in a blue dmx underlayment before putting a loose lay vinyl plank with double sided tape on it to help with the cold floor, I also sent him a copy of the quote and the contact info of the adjuster thru email for his reference when submitting his quote that same day. He came back on Dec. 01/21 so we can choose the design and color that we want for the floor, after me and my wife chose a color I confirmed with him if that particular vinyl plank will work with the underlayment he mentioned before and again he gave his assurance. Dec. 09/21 after his guys removed the old floor on one of the bedrooms and partially on the rec room, I went to check and saw them applying adhesives directly on the floor so I stopped them and told them that they were supposed to put underlayment before putting the vinyl, then I called Radu and he DENIED that he said he was going to put an underlayment on so I ask him to come to my house to talk, when Radu came I presented him a RECORDING of our conversation, he actually listened to himself confirming that he will put an underlayment on, he still tried to get away with it but I reminded him that it was his idea and because my basement is already a mess and a young boy uses that bedroom we reached an agreement that he will do what he initially promised and I will take out the rest of the floor out for him. Dec 13/21 I got an email from Radu stating that the initial quote was missing some extra charges and that he WILL NOT CONTINUE THE REPAIRS despite having parts of the old floors removed, cold pavement exposed and the whole house stinking due to a strong chemical smell from the adhesive they used UNLESS HIS EXTRA CHARGES was approved by the insurance. Radu had the copy of that QUOTE FOR ALMOST 2 WEEKS to use as reference and check for every details, he even gave me the assurance that he will deal with the insurance prior to starting the job if there will be extra charges, I repeatedly told him and made him understand that he can ONLY WORK within the approved budget as I currently do not work and have no funds for extras.and now after he my LEFT BASEMENT A MESS AND UNLIVEABLE HE WANTS MORE MONEY! and he is using the ruined state of my basement floor as a HOSTAGE to get more money. I cannot even put the old floors back in as they threw it out and there is shesive on the floor that is still not dry to date. I refuse to be a victim of a his devious scam so I called his bluff.

That is, until Radu from Silver Lining came. He figured it out quite quickly and solved the issue. He was prompt, informative, and professional. I couldn't recommend him enough. Customer service is a lost art nowadays, but Radu carries the torch. A+++
