This open roofed bar is a perfect place to pass a summer's night with strong drinks and good friends.
While still maintaining its fun outdoor feeI, El Diván tents the roof during the winter to keep their patrons cozy. The only bad part is for all you non-smokers, that the administration seems to be pretty lax on their smoking rules so even if the bar is tented, patrons will still smoke.
El Diván reminds me of many bars in Northern California: it is very trendy, slightly hipster and kind of hippy with an all around good atmosphere.
Although, I have never tried it, Diván serves regular bar food such as sandwiches and empanadas (my friends seemed to not be let down by their choices).
I however, usually stick with either a nice Schop (a beer on tap) or their mojitos (a perfect blend of mint, rum and lemon).
They are located right on the Lastarria strip but keep an eye out because El Diván is hidden - no signs or name out front so it is easy to walk past it. read more
